This aircraft, like many 'lessor owned' aircraft, has a very long and confusing history. It was delivered to ILFC International Lease Finance Corporation in Mar-81 and leased to Air Belgium as OO-RVM. The day after delivery it was briefly sub-leased to Bahamas Air, returning to Air Belgium in Apr-81.
It was then sub-leased to Eagle Air (Iceland) as TF-VLK, and wet-leased to Britannia Airways (operated by Eagle Air) for the 1981 summer season. It was returned to Eagle Air in Nov-81 and back to Air Belgium as OO-RVM.
In Oct-82 it was returned to ILFC, leased to Orion Airways (UK) and sub-leased back to Air Belgium. It returned to Orion Airways in Mar-83 becoming G-BKMS. They operated it for the summer season and it was then sub-leased to Wien Air Alaska for the winter from Oct-83/Apr-84.
Orion again operated it for the summer season before returning it to ILFC in Nov-84. It was then leased to America West Airlines as N143AW. It was sold to America West in Mar-88 (at the end of the lease), they immediately sold it to GPA Group Ltd.
It returned to the UK as G-BKMS again and was leased to Amberair. Amberair was merged into Paramount Airways in Oct-88 and the aircraft was sub-leased to Dragonair Hong Kong in Nov-88. It returned to Paramount in Apr-89 and was operated by them for the summer season.
It was sub-leased to Dragonair again in Sep-89. However, Paramount ceased operations in Nov-89 and the GPA Group then leased it direct to Dragonair as VR-HYZ. It was returned to GPA Group in Mar-90. In Apr-90 it was due to be leased to EAS Euro Air Service as F-GHXH but wasn't taken up.
In May-90 it was leased to Sultan Air (Turkey) as TC-JUS. It returned to GPA Group in Oct-91 and in Dec-91 it was leased to MALEV Hungary as HA-LEH. MALEV immediately sub-leased it to Lithuanian Airlines on the same day. In Jun-92, MALEV returned it to GPA Group who leased it direct to Lithuanian.
It should have been re-registered LY-ABL but that wasn't used and it became LY-GPA instead. In Nov-98 the lease was transferred to the AerFi Group while the lease to Lithuanian continued until they returned it in Jan-99.
In Feb-99 it was leased to Aerosvit, Ukraine as UR-BVZ, returning to AerFi in Jun-01. The aircraft was stored until Nov-01 when it was leased to Air Kazakhstan as UN-B3705. It was returned to the lessor in Feb-04 as N453LS.
The following month it was leased to Metro Batavia Air, Indonesia as PK-YTG. It was retired at Jakarta-CGK in mid 2007 and was last noted still stored there in Aug-15 looking very sad! It was preserved at Klaten, Central Java, Indonesia in 2016 and formed part of the Pancingan 100 Restaurant.
KX04 RVM is a Transbus Trident/Transbus ALX400 new to United Counties and subsequently transferred to Stagecoach Manchester during 2014 to Hyde Road garage. It is seen here in Piccadilly whilst working service 206.
