The first generation Saab 900 was launched in 1978 as an evolution of the Saab 99, with a simular cabin grafted onto a 2 inch longer wheelbase chassis allowing for a longerr smoother bonnet and boot line.
The Turbo version was a logical progression of the 99 Turbo, originally with a 145bhp eight valve engine, but upgraded in 1984 to a new 16 valve twin cam head, with an increase to 175bhp. Wider wheels and ventilated front disc brakes were introduced at the same time.
The ultimate version was the 1989 whale-tail Carlsson edition with a power output of 185bhp

I did not really have a relish to spend another Saturday afternoon at the airport. So I made my way to explore the surrounding area of my village to wait for incoming traffic on runway 08. "Alvid Viking" the name of this aircraft seen during banking for the final approach.
Norwich is where we see this Eastern Counties Plaxton bodied Dennis Dart,working service 19 to Heartsease.
RCH 511R: Plaxton bodied Bedford originally with Barton and absorbed into Eastern Counties stock when Bickers of Coddenham ceased trading in 1988.
RBD 112M, Willowbrook bodied Bedford, also ex Bickers (and still in full Bickers livery) but here operating under the Suffolkbus arm of Ipswich Buses.
