Have to admit, I didn't really know what this was until I looked it up. Apparently one of four currently on the road.
Same owner since 1994.
My final entry for the no-blending contest! I had to pull out all the stops for this one. It was a hell of a challenge not to use any shapes.

The Escort Mark V (and Mark III Orion saloon) arrived in September 1990 with an all-new bodyshell and a simplified torsion beam rear suspension (instead of the Mark III's fully independent layout). This model however was poorly received by the motoring press, and was panned by journalists for its mediocre driving dynamics and unremarkable styling in early 1992, an all new Zetec 16-valve engine was launched bringing improved driveability, while also marking the return of the XR3i which was available with two versions of the 1.8 L Zetec
Stung by the criticism of the original Mark V, which had remained popular with the motoring public Ford facelifted the Escort and Orion in September 1992, giving the revised cars a new grille, bonnet and, in the Escort convertible and hatchback's case, a new rear end. A new 1.6 L 16-valve 90 bhp (66 kW) Zetec engine was introduced, replacing the previous CVH. Fuel injection was now standard on all petrol models, and Ford introduced a four-wheel-drive variant of the RS2000,

It was particularly interesting to me with its Norfolk 'PW' plate. Dealer sticker in the rear window for Edwards Garages of Garboldisham, between Diss and Thetford.
I try not to have too many regrets, but I'm still annoyed with myself that I didn't get a photo of the garage building there before the site was redeveloped for housing 15-odd years ago.
For no good reason whatsoever, I've decided to rescan all my old Medler's scrapyard images. In going through the albums, shoeboxes etc I'm finding other archive shots that might be of interest.
This 100A with the pre-facelift grille was down at Datman's when I visited one day.
Don't know if it was his or whether it belonged to another DOC member. DVLA says no tax on it since 2000.

1976 Triumph Spitfire 1500 (RPW 70R)
With this particular example now 43 years young, I would say the Spitfire has aged rather well as a car, and still appears to be a cool, usable classic. Nice to see a couple on display here. This one has done just 15,000 miles, this could be correct judging by the nice '3d' numberplate, but if it is, it has done 10,000 since 2005.

After Bus deregulation, Eastern Counties took over Sunday and evening subsidised services 4 and 6, hence this view of one of their vehicles in what was then primarily Ipswich Buses territory.
(This picture was posted to flickr before; this is a rescan and because Flickr is playing up at the moment (now there's a surprise) I've had to upload from scratch rather than replace).
Vecchioni, Il cielo di Austerlitz
"E guardo questo nano francese
meschino come la sua vittoria
che conta i morti così cortese
e crede d’essere lui la storia,
“e io non posso, non voglio morire
amo la vita, quest’erba e l’aria”,
gli uomini sono un’avventura
straordinaria. "
