from our belated Christmas on 30th December
catching up is slow as I was "made" to drink left over champagne from 30th before the evening meal . . .
Information, Credits and additional pictures are on the blog post - rissasecondlife.blogspot.com/2020/02/roxy.html
This is Roxy my new Kitten I had tried to get a rescue cat around 12 months or less but all were older and needed to have access to a garden Roxy will be a house cat :) She's just over 8 weeks.
Just a couple of shots with my Coolpix.
The flash came on but her eyes are closed :)
I spent the weekend reading up on the wet-plate collodion processing technique and trying to replicate "the look". It made me realize how much work it was in the 19th century to produce a photo. Dangerous too, if you weren't careful with all those chemicals. :-)
Here is the Youtube link I used to help me with the editing. I don't have Photoshop, but it works with other software too. ( I have Affinity Photo)

Elsie wasn't at school yesterday. She was still under the weather, heavy eyelids, cough and cold and so listless . . .

The Lovetones...
I haven´t done a review in ages, but I´m so in love with these dolls and thought I´d share my view and opinion on them.
To me it´s like I found the perfect esthetic that I love in dolls. They look very fashion editorial with extreme exaggerated proportions,... they´ve got legs for days, almost alien like without becoming fantasy creatures. ... More like exaggerated fashion drawings, and since i´m a really bad drawer, having miniature models is a great way for me to experiment with fashion and volume.
I was mostly excited to unpack Roxy, she was the one I had my eyes on most, but as soon as I unpacked them Lena demanded lots of attention, so I am so happy to have both, they really are a set!!!
I absolutely adore their bodies, they have great posability (is that even a word?.) , and a very special feeling to them a bit comparable to touching a candle, The shoulders are quiet square wich is great for contemporary fashions. They have lots of attitude but still there is a sweetness to their head molds even a bit elfish. I´m crazy for the thin hair, i think it looks so natural and is great to style. I always had a bit of a problem with dolls that have to much hair maybe except barbie in the 80ies because back than that was the way women had their hair done, or on blythe dolls but for different reasons.....
I think the Lovetones made a great entrance and I can hardly wait so see what they have in store for us next...
There a so many new brands of dolls coming out, lots of collectors making their own dolls, and dollywood is becoming more and more versatile. It is a great thing to witness!!!

I spent this morning looking after Roxy. Although this was taken yesterday. I had helped her turn over on her tummy. Her back is now quite strong and she was wriggling her legs trying to get them underneath her. Hope I shall be able to keep up with her when she starts crawling!
the first Art i ever liked as a kid was roxy music album covers, with liv x,manchester.hope you like my Albert finney tee shirt.
Was trying to get her on the bean bag by wiggling a ribbon in one hand and taking the shot in the other she wouldn't sit on it thou 8-)
Totally loves the guys. Any guy around and she is all over them.
A sweetie. Belongs to a couple of the Grand kids. Julia and Adrianna.
We have other pictures of this great old-school cinema on this photostream but it is always good lens-bait
Photographed on the grounds of the North Caroina Museum of Art at sunset. This is a section of the sculpture 'Askew' by Roxy Paine.
