Vibrant colours and lively metalwork at the historic old Smithfield Market in London--this was an unexpected find on a Sunday stroll. The market is closed on the weekends but opens for business during the week at--wait for it!--2:00 a.m. This means the workers hit the pub for lunch and a pint around 7:00 a.m. Apparently, the pubs in the area have a special license to sell alcohol that early because of the hours the market workers keep. Day 25. This is the spiral pedestrian ramp in the town centre in Uxbridge. The other day, I went on a hunt for another tree to try the Pep Ventosa "in the round" technique again. I went to a nearby park that I knew had a lot of trees. Many of them were quite close to each other, but I found this small one. I walked around the tree, shooting as I went, and ended up with 16 images that are all here, layered in Photoshop, to create this one image. I used my Lensbaby Velvet for this one. I have one more from that day that I may post another time :)
Round bales dot our hills with wonderful shapes. And they are often, together with poppies, among the most admired images of spring, especially in Tuscany.
The 1923 Lingotto building once housed a Fiat assembly plant - the ramp was part of the manufacturing. During its day, it was the largest car factory in the world.
This ramp was featured in the 1969 movie The Italian Job.
Today this section of the building is a mall.
This shot pushed the limits of my old Sony RX100 camera but was happy to have captured.
