Country: Ireland. Style: Traditional Irish & Contemporary Folk.
Lineup: Brían MacGloinn (v/bouzouki/fiddle), Diarmuid MacGloinn (v/mandolin/g), Alain McFadden (harmonium/mandolin).
This group was formed by brothers Brían and Diarmuid Mac Gloinn. They are from Carlow (now living in Dublin) with a mother from Arranmore Island off the coast of Donegal. They combine their own songs with traditional ones from the North and Donegal in particular. They performed songs learned from the singing of Sarah Makem, Len Graham and Mrs Róise Green (also known as Róise na nAmhrán or Róise Rua) from Arranmore Island.

Graphically this picture is quite pleasing. It also communicates energy as this foot is clearly in a flexed and active position, it is also clearly a child's foot, and further because the toes are painted, it is clearly a little girl's foot. A picture really is worth 1000 words.
Putting the mic inside a foam-lined chamber reduces ambient roise and natural reverb.

Memories of the night before flood back to Róise when she wakes up at Mack’s place, with Mack relegated to the sofa. Mack is bruised and battered after being attacked by Róise’s new acquaintances and Róise feels very guilty for landing her friend in trouble. Róise pours her heart out to Mack about how difficult life has been since Donncha’s suicide and he does his best to comfort her. Will Mack be able to persuade Róise that she should be talking about her grief with her father Vince, as he’s going through the same tough time as she is ?Elsewhere, Lee is walking on air after bagging another date with Aodhán who takes her for a romantic meal in Gaudi’s tapas bar. Aodhán may be a gentleman, but Lee is no old fashioned girl and she shows her appreciation by inviting Aodhán back to her apartment! Could it be young love’s dream or is it simply lust for Lee? Meanwhile, Tadhg is tetchy about his upcoming date in court on illegal gambling charges. Tina tries to smooth things over, suggesting that Tadhg could stock her betting slips in the pub but Tadhg doesn’t want to have anything to do with her. Tina tries to embarrass Tadhg in front of Frances by bringing up their night of ‘passion’ together but Frances defends her man and tells Tina she knows all about it! Will Tadhg be forced to come clean to Frances about his past dealings with Tina?

Trying some strobist techniques here. I still have a lot of practicing to do but I was happy with this one. Nate is a former online student of mine and he plays Rugby for the NSA rugby team. I was hoping to get a good picture of his black eye (rugby wound) but the swelling was gone and it doesn't look very bad in this picture.
Strobist Info: I was using a Sigma 500 DG in optical slave mode (don't remember the power) with my 12" cereal box snoot. The sun was in and out of the clouds back and to the left. It provided better fill light when not behind a cloud. I used an old quantaray 9500 flash on camera to trigger the Sigma as a slave. I GIMPed the lettering on the shirt.

It's the morning after the night before and Lee is still on cloud nine after meeting Aodhán at Molly's housewarming party. However, she comes crashing down to earth very quickly when Berni walks in on a half naked Aodhán in her bathroom! After a blazing row, Lee storms out of Berni's place, losing the roof over her head and her new waitressing job in the process. Can Lee persuade Molly to let her move in to the apartment over the shop, or will Lee be forced to return to Berni's with her tail between her legs? Meanwhile, Frances thinks her worst fears have been confirmed when she catches Tadhg lying about where he's been. Frances is convinced that Tadhg is seeing another woman behind her back, but could there be a more innocent explanation? Elsewhere, Róise's drinking is getting out of hand. Is she just letting off some steam after a tough few weeks or should her friends be worried that she's trying to drown her sorrows and take her mind off Donncha's suicide by hitting the bottle?

Tonight in Ros na Rún, Tadhg is baying for blood after his run in with the Gardaí. Tadhg plans a slow and painful revenge for the person who reported his illegal gambling and Micheál is number one on his list of suspects. Or could Tina, the new owner of the bookies, have called the Gardaí in a bid to eliminate the competition? Since Róise’s friends refuse to partake in her heavy drinking sessions, Róise decides to make some new ones! She heads to Galway on her own for a night on the tiles and before long she’s surrounded by admirers. She enjoys the attention at first, but it’s not long before the flirting and fun turns too hot and heavy for her liking. Will Mack make it to the bar to help Róise before things get out of hand? Molly is unrepentant after she was caught stealing wine from the shop and is not taking her punishment well! Bríd insists Molly work in the shop to pay off the cost of the stolen goods but Molly is more of a hindrance than a help and turns the customers off with her surly attitude. Bríd reaches the end of her tether with her sulky teenage daughter and eventually concedes defeat. Molly has won the battle, but can Bríd win the war?

The bunny room was being altered, Roise and Snowdrop had to be put into a rabbit run, for their own safety while this was being done. Rosie had tryed all ways to escape from the run with out success. This photo was taken at the point they realised there was no way out.
