Very nice asynchronous design. Costs a bit for both RO (Reverse Osmosis) and UV (Ultraviolet) processing of water, but it brought down the hardness of the input water (white pipe) from 450+ to 50+ (suggested hardness of water is 50+).
Also, the lower container of about 9 liters ensures that some potable water is always around, as long as the power is available.
There's some wastage of water (blue pipe) as its hardness is above 600 for it to be used safely elsewhere. You can use it only for swabbing or washing the cars.
