I love hiking Glacier gorge in RMNP. I try to get there early to find parking, get nice light, and have a little solitude before most of the people arrive. In spite of the heavy traffic on the trail, I've found a couple of spurs that most never travel.

This 48 mile stretch of US Route 34 connects Estes Park on the east side of RMNP to Grand Lake on its west side, and tops out at 12,183 feet, making it the highest continuous paved road in the US.
