May 12, 2019 - This afternoon we had an Architectural Boat Tour on Chicago Line Cruises which began at the Ogden Slip located at McClurg Court adjacent to River East Art Center Promenade.
The original site of the roller coaster is sinking into the marsh.
I went to the site of the Riverview amusement park in Des Moines and photographed the park as it is now. Then I overlayed photos from park taken in the 1940s-1970s. This is my first try at this kind of photo editing. I'm excited to do more around Des Moines!

From an album - made into a book : me (L) & my younger sister playing in Teddington Weir about 1952. (Pic. by my Dad, who took us.) Note the handknitted swim-suits ... Nowadays paddling & bathing in the weir is not encouraged. Contrast with recent colour picture of weir in full spate.
There is a view of water along this street, in the distance beyond the parking lot surrounded by "no trespassing" signs.
