The infamous Ripley Creek Inn, our lodge based out of Stewart (B.C.). It takes about 2h to drive from Stewart to Bell 2 Lodge.

Here's a much bigger one, Ripley Falls, located in Crawford Notch in the White Mountains. Once again, I had to contend with bright sun, but at least it wasn't touching the water yet when I was here.

Some new and exciting changes are coming for Justin Smith Photography in the near future. I hope to have an announcement about that before the end of the year.

Gotta love G-Burg. We have old movies from the 60's of trips to Gatlinburg. The best thing about it is it's always there - sorta like home.

One of my all-time favorite things at Disneyland are the steam locomotives that circle the park carrying guests to stations at New Orleans Square, Toontown, Tomorrowland and Main Street USA. When 4 trains are on the tracks, they can be seen at the stations and overpasses every 7 minutes or so...

Here is E.P. Ripley, Disneyland Railroad Engine No. 2, named for the President of Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad who was one of the original sponsors of Disneyland in 1955.

Unlike the locomotives at other Disney Parks, E.P. Ripley was hand-built by Walt Disney Studios specifically for Disneyland in 1954. She was up-scaled from a locomotive named Lilly Belle that Walt Disney ran on his personal backyard railway, The Carolwood Pacific Railroad.

Interestingly, the original Lilly Belle locomotive can be seen on display at Disneyland inside the Main Street Station...

I went out shopping today and found this book. It's a Ripley's yearbook designed for a younger audience. I had kind of forgotten about it because the preparations were made over a year ago. It's nice they contacted me about this one. You may remember the last Ripley's Enter if you Dare issue where they used an image of mine I had no knowledge of. When I asked them last year, they informed me that they got it from a news agency that did an article on my water drops. At the time I didn't know that they were allowed to sell these images to other media.

I didn't mind - it was good exposure and I have always liked Ripley's. It was an honour.

I don't usually mention when my work gets published, but this is very cool. There was another this past summer where Real-The Canadian Kid's Magazine, which is a local publication, used quite a few of my pictures and I made a chocolate chip cookie with falling chips for them :-) That was a fun one.

Best of the new year to everyone.

Seen from the food queue of the Hungry Bear restaurant at Disneyland, E.P. Ripley makes her way through Critter Country towards the next stop in Toontown. I have had this shot in mind for a while now...Unfortunately, the Hungry Bear has been under renovation for a couple of months. Finally open again, the Hungry Bear is built on a raised platform above Rivers of America and Critter Country affording excellent views, and a new tasty menu....
