digital - The is the first pet I've had in over 20 years. I'm glad I decided to adopt Ripley. She's very sweet and lovable.....when she's not in crazy kitten mode.

Ripley Castle is a Grade I listed 14th-century country house in Ripley, North Yorkshire, England, 3 miles north of Harrogate. The house is built of coursed squared gritstone and ashlar with grey slate and stone slate roofs. The castle has been the seat of the Ingilby baronets since 1309.

Sir Thomas Ingleby (c1290-1352) married the heiress Edeline Thwenge in 1308/9 and acquired the Ripley Castle estate with its mediaeval manor house as her dowry

Sir William Ingleby (1546–1618) hosted James VI of Scotland when the king was en route to his coronation as James I of England in 1603.

Ripley has not had nearly as many photos since Boo arrived, but today is all about her - she is my big squeeze (I give lots of hugs) and Boo is my little squeeze. This is Ripley out at sunrise this morning - the light was awesome and so was her expression. Such an amazing friend to have. <3

I have seen a good number of photos of these hyperactive birds of late. Wow, do they flit around with pace.

This photo was taken within the grounds of Ripley Castle where we came across a small number of these minute birds. Alas I was with my wife and another couple so didn't really have time to be patient and hang around awaiting a better view. I do however have many dozen photos that seem to have been focussed on the birds rear. Perhaps Ian lots hunt for food it berries its head in the foliage.

Boo and Ripley are tired of all of my nature photos and wanted a turn in front of the camera. : )

You can't say you've been to G-Burg unless you stopped by Ripley's.

Georgia Central L781 is lit by the only appearance of the sun on this day as it climbs the grade north of Ripley as it heads north for Macon. With the line in need of higher horsepower engines that can traverse the entire line, G&W decided to lease, & have since bought, some former Norfolk Southern B32-8's from GE, marking the return of GE locomotives to the GC since the high hood U23B's were retired in 2015. 1-22-21

Saturday we were in Amsterdam. Here we visited Ripley's Believe It or Not. Amazing!!!

Having been watching a most excellent series on Netflix called Ripley, I thought to myself the scenery looked oddly familiar. So I returned to my library, and sure enough, the village where Tom, Dickey and Marge were staying is right here in Atrani.

We never made it to Cortina, btw.

Beautiful fall day, and after finishing all of my weekend chores I finally got the camera out. It's been far too long since I've had a chance to use it. I was blessed with an opportunity to catch this shot of my beautiful Vizsla, Ripley.

I finally bought a Chief O'Hara fig today so I could try one of my favourite scenes from Aliens. When they first enter the facility and Ripley pauses on the threshold in the rain...

digital - Sorry for the digital pics, my fellow film geeks. I screwed up my last roll of film and lost all of my early kitten shots of Ripley. Thankfully I have digital backup pics.

One of the impressive entrance gates to Ripley Castle, a Grade I listed 14th-century country house near Harrogate in North Yorkshire. The house is built of coursed squared gritstone and ashlar with grey slate and stone slate roofs. A central two-storey block is flanked by a tower at one end and a three-storey wing at the other.

A current TV series tip: “Ripley” on Netflix. All in black and white. Shot almost continuously with a static camera (there are hardly any camera movements or zooms). And every single shot is a work of art in terms of composition, light and shadow. A must-see for photographers! (Anyone who has already seen Ripley will understand my Venice photo)

Ein aktueller TV-Serien-Tipp: „Ripley“ auf Netflix. Alles in Schwarzweiß. Fast durchgehend (8 Folgen) mit statischer Kamera gedreht (es gibt kaum Kamerabewegungen oder Zooms). Und jede einzelne Einstellung ist ein Kunstwerk an Komposition, Licht und Schatten. Muss man als (Hobby-) Fotograf gesehen haben! (Wer Ripley schon gesehen hat, versteht auch mein Venedig-Foto)
