Machli, aged 19 and India's most well known Tigress, passed on yesterday due to old age at the Ranthambore National Park.
My Nan Lily passed away on Saturday 86 years of age; miss her already. I took this two years ago she is sitting with my son.
Jessie Jackson was my upstairs neighbor for the past year or two and we often saw him. I regret not having the opportunity to talk to him other than hellos and goodbyes. Over the past few months we watched his health decline and knew the end was near. While I didn't always agree with him, there is no doubt that he opened many doors for my generation.
The engineer at the throttle of CBRY 304 wastes no time going through the notches, as his train has just cleared the 10 MPH restriction. Behind the power are around 50 loads of copper going from the Ray Mine to the smelter in Hayden, AZ

A pair of Union Pacific's four-axle EMDs were shuffling some intermodal cars around Global III west of Rochelle in 2008.
Due to UP's implementation of Precision Scheduled Railroading, Union Pacific has shuttered this once-busy facility and the trains no longer call on Global III.
Dream was a big deal, all over the place. Giant letters everywhere spelling out DREAM like this crazy optimistic command. He and whoever did the OAKLAND IS PROUD have had such a big impact on my psyche. He was killed in a robbery a couple years ago.

Elizabeth Jean Pruett, known to us online as Rottlady, died on Friday, November 14th. Though I never met her personally, we have been friends for 4 years, meeting weekly online to view and discuss photos and group activities. She was funny and feisty, and would run out of a meeting to get her nightly sunset picture. Known for her Ozark sunsets, she also loved history and animals.
RIP Elizabeth! You touched our lives, and we shall miss you.
This beautiful old church, built in 1928 was abandoned several years ago and is now being torn down. This time I went inside.
Thanks to our Flickr friend Bill Baldridge for this info about the church and its role in the riots here in KC that resulted in 6 people being killed following Martin Luther King's death in 1968. How well I remember those times. I got grounded for sneaking out one night, there were Nat'l Guard on the street corners.

Metra 2237 zipped through Bensenville with F59PH 97 trying to make it to Elgin without breaking down. A MP36 was tagging along to push it home if it decided to die as it seems fond of doing.
Metra's purchasing department must have big time buyer's remorse with these things. They look nice though.
Looks like a great final resting spot, any takers?
Freezing to Death
by Just Laura
Gentle and deadly
Beautiful, feared.
Drifting and Falling
Sharp winter austere.
White as your eyes that
Glaze over clear.
Frozen, unfeeling
Lovely, severe.
You are now drifting
Away from here.
It drifts against skin
Pale, brittle, sheer.
One last cloudy breath
Then you disappear
Lips blue, unmoving
One last frozen tear
Gentle and deadly
Unfeeling, feared.
Steadily the snow
Will bury you here.
