Elizabeth Jean Pruett, known to us online as Rottlady, died on Friday, November 14th. Though I never met her personally, we have been friends for 4 years, meeting weekly online to view and discuss photos and group activities. She was funny and feisty, and would run out of a meeting to get her nightly sunset picture. Known for her Ozark sunsets, she also loved history and animals.
RIP Elizabeth! You touched our lives, and we shall miss you.

<Bille Jean, the song by the late pop idol Michael Jackson, has to be one of the most popular, interesting, memorable and enjoyable songs of all times. It also resonates with me in ways that I cannot go into detail here, at least not without ensuring the end of any future political career. LOL.
Liliy, gene king, (sorry, couldn't resist the link to Bille Jean King, the Tennis star), almost as much as roses, are also always among the most enjoyable, popular, colorful and delightful flowers around.
I do not know the name of this exact variety that my next door neighbors, Mrs. & Mr. M, recently planted, in the area in front of our homes. But, even as I took this photo, I had NO idea how stunned even I would be, when I saw it as a desktop picture on my 27" iMac.
What was stunning in impact was the explosively subtle range of colors along the length of even one single petal.
Maybe it's me. Maybe I am too romantic, too passionate, too filled with lust for love, and love for lust...
Or, maybe it IS in the air, all around, if only we would open our eyes and see, our loves, our beloved lovers, lying waiting in front of us.....
The luscious pink petal's furled edges welcoming the eye and caressing looks deep into its folds, of delectable vanilla milky smooth skin, with stamens rising up on dimpled skin to welcome loving carriers of life, to enter, and meld in eternity, softly entwined in the embrace of tendrils, on a soft dark and light bokeh bed.
Lily gene, IS my love(r), but was not in MY (flower)bed ;) ... and I hope it's "child" grows in the sun, in coming years... while coming generations of secret lovers smile openly secretly at what the words of the song mean to them.
Long live love, long live lovers, long live children created in love. Rest in peace, Michael Jackson.

She almost made it to 19 but we lost her a few days ago. I've posted images of her before. She's happy now, chasing celestial mice.... We'll miss her.

Seems an odd move moving her to here last year only to move her back again to were she was before for component recovery once more.... 08/04/2024
My iPod shuffle is dead and out of warranty. But I will be purchasing a new iPod shuffle 2G 1GB to replace her...

The last picture of Blacky :-( Only a few days ago poor Blacky had his back ripped, Possibly Blackbird wars. He could still fly and looked like he might recover but a couple days later I found him waiting for me under our doorsill. looking like septicemia had set in but after a while he perked up ate some soaked mealworms and managed to fly into the hedge. The next morning as I opened the back door he flew down to my feet and laid on the ground. I put some food under him and he ate quite a lot and after sometime he managed to fly over the fence. two hours later he came back fed by my feet and went back over the fence never to return. His partner has been sitting on the neighbours garage for most of the two days since. Blacky was a special bird in many ways. Differant and smarter than all the other blackbirds. He always came running towards me when I shouted come on Blacky. Took my first pictures of him in 2017 when he was feeding his fledglings so he must have been over 8 years old which is a long life for a Blackbird.
Miss him so much
