Farewell to a Melbourne icon.

Natalie Trayling captivated passers by in the streets of Melbourne for decades, where she'd play her electric piano with a passion and emotion that came from a life both blessed and cursed with more than her fair share of both. So connected was she to her music, she could sit down and play songs she'd spontaneously compose before you. The allure of her melodies was that you could be drawn into her heart and soul with every stroke of a key. Her music was as authentic as the pain or the joy that her tunes could transport you through. Melbourne will never be the same. We'll never again turn a corner and experience that wonder of seeing her hunched over her piano, completely lost in her music, and getting lost alongside her. Natalie was supported by her devoted and dedicated son Matthew, who transported Natalie to locations around the CBD and set up her equipment, and then sat in the background for as long as Natalie wanted to play. youtu.be/30rxzkAYy7k

African leopards (Panthera pardus pardus) are one of the two big cats, along with the lion and included in the big five of Africa, that inhabit the continent of Africa.

Queen Lorian, a very famous and senior female leopard, was found dead yesterday morning, mauled to death by either Lions or another Leopard. She has left behind a 14 month old son, Roho who shall to fend for himself in the wild.

This was my latest sighting of her during a photography Safari on an early morning game drive in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya.

this is a sewing ripper with its cover

there are 8 possibilities today-- i think my favorites are the simplicity of faux tea light and the sparkle of golden hasp clasp. think i'll have a bit of coffee while i cogitate. the macromonday album of postings and possibilities is here:

60006 has the dubious honour of being the first class 60 to be scrapped. Disposed of at Ron Hull's at the end of January. Seen here in better times with a loaded ore train bound for Llanwern at Miskin.

Elephants, while trying to find food for their huge bodies and appetites, can also be quite destructive of plant life. Guides point out areas of a game reserve where that the giants have used as feeding grounds. It soon becomes clear to the untrained eye the areas where they have been as it takes quite some time for the earth to mend.

Sixteen to eighteen hours, or nearly 80% of an elephant's day is spent feeding. They consume grasses, small plants, bushes, fruit, twigs, tree bark, and roots.

She looks more balanced with the ripper on the back.

One of many mages taken on a camping trip in Surat Thani last year during a heavy storm and one that sadly can no longer be repeated after this area of jungle was recently cleared. The muted tones reflect my current mood and probably better suit the image anyway. I'm slowly putting together a 'mood' wall and this one will go off to the printer tomorrow and hopefully become part of it. That's if I don't cheer up by then which would be rather annoying..

Thank you for passing through :)

Sadly was killed after his jet was shot down near the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv.

He has died a hero, and I am sure every one would like to remember him for his superb displays.

My 14 year old cat died today and it was so unexpected, everything happened so fast that we are still in shock, we still can't believe this is real, but sadly it is.

This is an old picture of her back when her hair color was still dark (it turned kinda blonde as she grew older).

She used to love laying on my stuff, my clothes, even my keyboard lol, really gonna miss her a lot <3

RIP little guy. RMANWR personnel have determined that this family of burrowing owls has lost the parents to likely predation. It sure was fun to see the work and attention to family these owls provided us all.
