The Allianz Arena is a football stadium located in Fröttmaning in the north of Munich.
Max. seating is 75,000. Due to it's shape it earned the nicknames "Schlauchboot" (inflatable boat) and "Autoreifen" (tyre).

It was raining. I was cold and wet. My umbrella had turned inside out. But it was a quite atmospheric wandering through the smaller streets in the area of Shiba Daimon and Shiba Koen in Tokoyo.
The red light is a restaurant - and if the white sign above is to be believed, they sell tonkatsu (the Japanese take on a schnitzel).
The signs on the ground spells out STOP - or in Japanese 止まる, where the upside-down まる is the only thing you can see here. It is something you will se quite often written on the streets of Tokyo - even on streets so small you wonder how anyone could ever drive anything there.

(Yes, it looked like that! It was taken at the blue hour - but the snow had some interesting effects on the sky colour.)
I went some 500+ km up north in Sweden to see some real winter - I was not disappointed. (Though i was when I returned home yesterday and was met by not only 500 shades of grey but also rain.)
The Carolina park in Uppsala (not named after a Carolina/Caroline but probably to match the university library Carolina Redeviva at which back the park is located). It is often referred to as the English park (Engelska parken), and is one of the oldest parks designed for public use in Sweden, with the planing of it beginning in 1825.

Yet another view of this quarter. The Schnoor quarter is the oldest documented quarter of Bremen and it has largely preserved its medieval character.
First mentioned in the 13th century. The two oldest remaining buildings are from 1401 and 1402 respectively.

Shot in the 半岛NO.88 (Bandao NO.88) bar in Zhengzhou. Located at Dongming Road (东明路), close to Jinshui Road (金水路), it's most likely the best bar in Zhengzhou.

This is quite a busy intersection. Tsuen Wan Road and Kwai Chung Road run parallel at ground level before they split to different directions. The overpasses on the right belong to three MTR lines: Airport Express, Tsuen Wan Line and Tung Chung Line. In the left background the flyovers to Tsing Kwai Highway. The official name of this church is "Stiftskirche St. Kajetan", it is the church of the catholic Theatines order (Latin name Ordo Clericorum Regularium). The church was build from 1663 to 1690 in late baroque style.

Ueno Park (上野公園) is one of the oldest public parks in Japan, created in 1873. The land had formerly belonged to the temple Kan'ei-ji (full name Tōeizan Kan'ei-ji Endon-in, 東叡山寛永寺円頓院), a temple closely associated with the Tokugawa family. But many of its building had been destroyed at the battle of Ueno in 1868, and after that most of the land was turned over to the city of Tokyo.
Today the park houses several museums, temples and a zoo and is one of the most popular parks in Japan, counting some 10 million visitors a year.

We saw 3 owls at the ball fields and one at the library, but none had a background or habitat that was pleasing. After driving around town for a while and looking at the vacant lots (of which there are far fewer due to the building boom) we found this cutie that had a nice nest and surroundings.

In Rome at the Swedish Institute of Classical Studies - this was 4 years ago, but the view is basically the same. I'm one desk further back in the room, and not much has changed (except for the placement of all books - a major issue when you have to use a library, but from an aesthetic point of view a minor issue!). Even the temperature is the same, at around 35C!
