RI GP38 4332, named "The Indianola" and U30C 4594 are southbound at the Mississippi River grain terminal for transloading to the Mississippi River south of Davenport, Iowa.

Belcourt was built in 1891, Oliver Belmont hired architect Richard Morris Hunt to design his dream home. The mansion would be a summer cottage for him and his horses. There are four horse statues at the entrance to the mansion.
Belmont’s bachelor pad was a private getaway, also it was a space to pamper his horses. Hunt also designed an enormous carriage room and stables. The mansion had a single bedroom in it, so he could live in privacy with his horses.

Rock Island plow built from a steam engine tender. My father may have taken this in Cedar Rapids, the slides following are from that location.

The library was the centerpiece of life for Cornelius Vanderbilt, who was well-read. The walls are paneled with walnut from Europe and stamped with gold. The ceiling is coffered with more gold leaf. The fireplace was acquired from a 16th century French chateau. The walls in the library are covered with wainscoting of walnut decorated with low relief carving and gold leaf; the walls above the woodwork are covered with panels of gold-embossed Spanish leather.
