This is a particularly pleasing view from Raven's Nest. The Sun was able to peek through every now and then through the mist and clouds. The tide below as it moved in and out made the rounded rocks on the beach make a pleasing "clacking" sound as the tide receded. Subtle strength, not so subtle result. - Acadia National Park.

Rhythm (from Greek ῥυθμός, rhythmos, "any regular recurring motion, symmetry" (Liddell and Scott 1996)) generally means a "movement marked by the regulated succession of strong and weak elements, or of opposite or different conditions".

You find it it in nature, in architecture and many different man-made things.

A good relationship has a pattern like a dance ...the partners move confidently in the same pattern, intricate, swift and free, like a country dance of Mozart's ...

there is no place here for the possessive clutch, the clinging arm, the heavy hand; only the barest touch in passing.

Now arm in arm, now face to face, now back to back -- it does not matter which. Because they know they are partners moving to the same rhythm, creating a pattern together, and being invisibly nourished by it. -

It is funny how serene this looks. A few seconds after I took this a blast of wind blew my tripod over and I spent the next few minutes removing sand from camera, lens and filter.

As a 'CCC' Card carrying colorist you would guess I am looking forward to summer's bright light and depth of colors, but through my recent studying of Winogrand's photos I am drawn back to my years of monochrome and have lined up a series of black and white images.

caught mid-stride, she moves through a space where architecture dances with shadows — where glass and steel mimic the branches above, and motion meets design in a moment of quiet sync.

Lines and shadows give a rhythmic feel to this frame.

In the heart of the city, a building poses a question: Why do circles and triangles come together to form a rectangle building? The answer lies not in maths nor in chaos, but in the visual harmony of its rhythmic repetition.
