I was surprised to see that the pleasant village of Halstead (the Kent one) is served by TfL buses. With the Cock Inn in the background, RF 600 pauses for a photo-stop while returning from Orpington to Sevenoaks. The rubbish in the bin adds nicely to the scene...
Sevenoaks classic bus running day.

672 attends its first LT garage open day at Hendon. I can't recall the purpose of the event. At the end I had my fiorst official drive of an RML.
Moscow Aviation Repair Plant Rosto (MARZ Rosto) at Chernoye Airfield (XUMH) on August 11, 2012. DOSAAF Rossii Antonov (PZL-Mielec) An-2T RF-00283 (cn 1G161-33). Fuselage only. This aircraft was built in 1975. It is probably former DOSAAF "68". The airframe was refurbished by the rework facility, made flightworthy again and delivered to DOSAAF Rossii on May 22, 2014. RF-00283 has been observed at Kursk-Ryshkovo (XUOS), painted in bright green, with red stars and DOSAAF Rossi-titles. It has obviously been used for parachute jumping. An-2 planes are just like cats. They have nine lives!

Moscow Aviation Repair Plant - MARZ Rosto - at Chernoye Airfied (XUMH) on August 27, 2015. MARZ Rosto Antonov (PZL-Mielec) An-2R RF 00889 (cn 1G154-10). This aircraft was delivered to Aeroflot/Central Region in 1974 with the registration CCCP-05770. Later registrations was RA-02092 and RF 00889.
I belatedly got around to removing doors from my central RFs and I wondered why I hadnt done it before! Once the artwork was done the actual work was quite straightforward. The step lights are leather punched from light grey PVC tape and then painted around to represent a lens within a ring. The front handrail continues inside as the black horizontal rail to stop passengers exiting through the front window in a crash! It is bent down behind the centre pillar to fix below it. I was particularly pleased how small dabs of superglue and some silver paint give the illusion that the rail fixes to the nearside corner.
Its hard to think now, that as a teenager with a poor punctuality record, employed in the production office at Lesney Products, I would sometimes run towards an accelerating RF like this and grab that rail and swing inside. The fear of being late was obviously greater than that of falling under the wheels!

An RT journey appeared on RF stronghold 307 on 7 July 1973 and lasted until 31 May 1975. This was my only attempt to photograph it, but unfortunately either 307 wasn't on the RT route blind (quite likely, since the route had a low bridge at Harpenden) or the conductor couldn't face the prospect of setting up 334, 320, 307 and 314 on four consecutive journeys. Consequently RT3530 (MLL840) shows 314, much less of a prize, as it leaves the northbound stop under BP House at Moor End on 30 April 1975. A torn blind gives a Spanish or Arabic flavour to the destination display by showing "El Hempstead".
