Another fantastic week of junior football at Respect League - Burnage Rugby Club.
I`ve been asked on a number of occasions how to download the photos of your son/daughter.

This cenotaph is a white granite ashlar obelisk built in 1923, probably to a design by Grayson. It sits on a three-stepped plinth and on the north and south sides it has bronze relief panels that depict images of warfare. These were designed by Gilbert Ledward in 1922. On the east and west sides, figures of soldiers, a sailor and an airman are depicted. On platforms to the north and south of the obelisk are free-standing chest tombs with cast bronze roofs. On the roofs are names of the fallen.

Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge is a celebration of the ship, passengers and crew!
It is said that the best way to respect and honor those who gave their lives is to simply tell their stories.
As the whole world remembers the world’s most famous luxury liner, Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tn. will continue to open the door to the past in it’s one-of-a-kind way – letting “passengers” experience what it was like to walk the hallways, parlors, cabins and Grand Staircase of the Titanic while surrounded by more than 400 artifacts directly from the ship and its passengers. The heart of the ship is the Grand Staircase, constructed from the original Harland & Wolff plans with its oak carvings and cherub statue. Here, a magnificent glass dome reflects light off oak wall paneling and elaborate railings and iron scrollwork. Wide, sweeping steps and landings provide a spectacular area where the original guests of the RMS Titanic made their appearances. You’ll be surprised to learn what the floor was made of – something considered most expensive for 1912.

I call this one, 'Give Peace A Chance'. These roses are 'Peace' roses, and they surround the flag pole at Madingley American Cemetery. Seeing 'Old Glory' at half mast with the yellow blooms of the Peace roses seemed very poignant, I'm no pacifist, but we must always look for an alternative to war and all its consequences.

Respect League is a not-for-profit group of junior football clubs that have come together to give children the best possible start in football. The League is leading the way in fully implementing The FA's vision for children's football and there whole approach is more child-centered and age-appropriate than traditional Leagues.
They give children the ideal environment to accelerate their learning. The FA have awarded them Charter Standard status and they've won the coveted Bronze Award as the best League in the whole county !
The referees are trained to 'manage' the game rather than just blow a whistle. This means they're talking to the players throughout, encouraging them, advising and helping them to avoid foul play. It's calm, safe and fun. Oh, and the football is fantastic!

Zu den Respect Gaymes 2014 luden mich Mitglieder der Piratenpartei Berlin ein anwesend zu sein. Ihr einziges Turnierziel war es ein Tor zu schießen, da sie bei den beiden vorherigen Turnieren dies nicht schafften. Nach einer 0:6 und einer 0:3 Pleite bot ich meine Künste an. Im ersten Spiel konnte ich noch nicht das Wunder vom Exer schaffen. Doch im letzten Spiel gab es das erste Piratentor bei den Respect Gaymes nach einem kurzen „Sprint“ im Kampf gegen einen Abwehrspieler und dem Torwart.
Die angebotene Ehrenmitgliedschaft bei der Piratenpartei nehme ich gerne an und danke für Einladung und gemeinsames Spielen.
Wie immer bei den Respect Gaymes gab es allerlei Stände. Schade ist nur, dass die Mannschaften nicht zu Mixed-Teams verpflichtet werden und z.T. aus Jugendspielern, die gerade erst Berliner Pokalsieger wurden oder Freizeitmannschaften, welche nicht den fairen Umgang und den Kampf gegen Homophobie im Fokus haben, sondern den Turniersieg. So kam es im ersten Spiel gleich zu einem Beinbruch nach einer Grätsche eines der übermotivierten Teams.
Im Vordergrund dieses Turnieres sollte es um Homophobie im Fußball und Gesellschaft gehen und nicht um den Sieg eines eventuelle großen und renommierten Freizeitfußballturniers. Positiv hervorheben kann man da die Jugend von Fortuna Pankow. Mit den richtigen Shirts und der gebotenen Portion über eigenes Versagen waren sie ein der Sympathischen Mannschaften.
