I photograph this building every time I see it. I think there is something valuable in photographing things again and again. You see a bit more each time and maybe get closer to what is drawing you to the subject again and again.

If at first you don't succeed... Skipwith again at my new found location of choice for a much more rewarding sunrise over the pond.

PCA - *REPETITION*
While working this week in Philadelphia, I've been keeping my eye out for some form of non-cliché repetition. This subject kinda took me by surprise, as it wasn't the kind of linear repetition I was imagining, but rather a burst if offset, multi-level patterns.
Not that I can add anything visually compared to Michał's picture from the same location, but as the saying goes repetition is the mother of learning, so here is a bit of metro trivia from Sofia.
Opened in 1998, the Sofijsko Metro is among the youngest rapid transport systems in Europe. Currently, it consists of 4 lines spanning 52 km length, served by a total of 72 vehicles.
The first types to appear on the tracks were of course the iconic 81-717/714 units built by Metrowagonmash, which were interestingly delivered 8 years before the opening of the first section.
From the original 48 carriages, only 3 sets are still in service untouched: similarly to Budapest's units, the city got a deal with the manufacturer to modernise them.
And the parallelism to Hungary does not end here, as the metro cars are being transported through the country on their long journey to rebirth.
I keep encountering the advice that it is useful to visit the same spot again and again, so here I am again, looking at this bit of architecture, one week later than version one (DSC3552). Again, this is while Riley, our Cairn Terrier, gets his PT after surgery to repair a torn ACL. Unlike the first image, this one finds the siding covered in dirt, yielding more detail to engage my eye.

Vendremos tantas veces! Otras habrá que renunciar,
cerraremos alguna puerta,
cortaremos una flor,
tal vez diremos cosas en voz baja,
será como quitarse un antifaz,
como reconocer a un viejo amigo,
excusarnos en medio de la soledad.
Pero sucederá,
y esta sonrisa sucederá también,
y los sollozos,
el abrazo más fuerte,
la mañana buscada alegremente hacia los parques,
sucederá el olvido,
sucedemos... "
