A few days ago, I heard a bird singing the happiest song and it sounded like it was right inside our home. After following the high-pitched bliss, I found (with great joy) that a bird had built a nest in the wreath on our front door! Through the frosted glass I could see the back of the nest, in each of its glorious layers. The bird was fussing and fidgeting about while chirping at the full breadth of her lungs. The cherry on top of this already beautiful scene was that the very last layer of the nest is made with hair from our pony, Outlaw. This, my friends, is a prime example of one of life's most pure and simple joys.
After I shot this image I moved my tripod closer to the hills to try and get a cleaner comp. BTW, let me know if it seems oversharpened to you.

A very young white-tail stands amid the stones at the Attica prison cemetery, balanced between fear and fascination at the sight of me and my tripod.
It paced back and forth for a while, bobbing and turning its head to get a better look, never bolting but never getting too close, either. A wonderful interlude.
After a few minutes, the fawn walked off to find Mom, and I walked out to my car, where I was advised in very clear terms that the graveyard is off-limits to the public.
This is the resting place of inmates whose bodies went unclaimed after they died at one of the most notorious prisons in America. I can see why the staff would want to keep gawkers out.

The spring brings renewal. Flowers blaze, grass grows, and the mother bear and her cub sit in the water, looking for fish.

See my image in the header of the March 2017 BeZine. It is a stack of two photos with the intent of showing winter into spring. I added pomegranate seeds with Persephone in mind.
I worked really hard on it and am happy it’s out there in the world!
After illness and winter blues, my friend and fellow Taswegian ( recently returned), took me here and gave me back my inspiration. Thanks Ads :~)

"The care of the Earth is our most ancient and most worthy, and after all our most pleasing responsibility. To cherish what remains of the Earth and to foster its renewal is our only legitimate hope of survival.”

While making my way to Kellogg, Idaho I stopped at the lovely Wolf Creek area just east of Coeur d'Alene to catch the morning vista.

Spring brings food for the whitetail deer and ends their winter starvation diet of sticks and dry leaves.

The western side of the Teton mountains are seen at sunrise overlooking the Teton River at Cache Bridge in Teton Valley, Idaho. The old adage; "Red sky at morning, Sailors take warning" was certainly true this day as we had stormy and unsettled weather the rest of the day after this beautiful sunrise!

Formerly a department store warehouse, now the Welton Lofts apartments. This old warehouse is a fine example of urban renewal in the heart of downtown Norfolk. - Camera = Nikon N75 - F75 - Film = Kodak TMAX 100 - Film developed by The Darkroom Lab in San Clemente, CA, USA - TheDarkroom.com
"Renewal:" This young tree appeared as if it had separated from the rest of the group of taller, more mature trees to rest closer to the water's edge. From this position, the view of its reflection appeared directly nourished by the waterfall. I stood here for a moment and thought about how tall this tree might grow in the future and how nature tends to renew itself and those who appreciate its beauty.

The area of Södermalm today is a prime example of 21st-century urbanism and renewal, even taken to gentrified extremes in certain corners. After being trumpeted as one of Europe’s “coolest” neighborhoods, it would seem that Söder’s status has been cemented as the 'It' place to be in Stockholm.
But these hilly streets weren’t always populated with stylish young people and chic minimalist cafes. Once a upon a time, this borough was home to agriculture and industry, a rural area where the poor working class of the city made their home.
