The natural cycle of life and death of flora takes place pretty quickly in Thailand. I saw this "dead" tree and rejuvenating growth while staying in Khao Lak.

While my orchids slowly rejuvenate after years of intensive flowering, I thought I would share this now two-year-old photograph of one of them in bloom.
I found this film, Retropan Soft 320, both fascinating and horrible at the time - as well as being fiercely grainy it felt a little inconsistent, though that was probably me. Having read more, developed more, and so on, I have a more balanced view of it, and think that it really shines in this photograph. It gives access to an impressionistic, almost pointillist, texture without the sharp increase in contrast that occurs with pushing a film. I used most of my supply on subjects that were not necessarily suitable, and, if I understand correctly, Foma have now discontinued it and its dedicated developer. We live and learn.
Orchid in bloom, 2020. Pentax ME Super, SMC Pentax-M 50/1.7, possibly with an extension tube. Foma Retropan 320 Soft, Retrospecial developer. Some cleaning up in photoshop (dust and so on).
This recently rejuvenated hotel has a history that goes back to 1854. But here is a sad story. Whereas now it is a drinking and gambling venue (pubs can rarely survive these days without gaming or gambling), in the 1970s to the 1990s it was also a major hub in the live music industry.

These places were opportunities for new bands to develop a following and become a part of the music industry. But there are very few pubs offering their stages to rock musicians these days.

Taking a household item to an industrial unit to be repaired, Ray parked our car opposite this line-up of minis.
An unusual subject for me but they looked so smart I was even nearly tempted to buy one!
Hard to choose a colour though, the most important aspect of any car for me................

I'm going to miss the dereliction, abandonment and vibrancy of Black Rock when/if it gets rejuvenated.
Recently we have had snow in lower elevations around Sonoma County and that goes for pretty much of all of California. Been a crazy weather pattern and there is still more to come. The past few months I've noticed that many of the trees that had burnt in the Glass Fire 2020 are showing signs of regrowth, which is great to see. This area is kinda special too me, so seeing the progress of rejuvenation in this particular area was more gratifying then the snow itself. With that said, the snow was and is beautiful. This isn't the prettiest image that I captured lately but is the most meaningful to me.

There he was, diggin an 'ole - I asked if I could take a photo of him digging the hole and he immediately struck up a pose and smiled Not a good shot of his face because he's in a cloud of smoke but a good shot of the hole ;-))
At least according to one of my contacts. This photo is a tribute to rejuvenation--during the worst heat of the summer, this plant lost everything visible, but I kept watering the roots and eventually leaves emerged, then the blooms--just in time for winter.
A lady walks her dog through her local woodland. Always enjoy meeting new people whilst out in the woods. Can be very handy with getting to know the area.

My work is a journey to the unknown. Where nature and control meets. Going into something I don’t understand. The abstract art I create I find healing, rejuvenation and fulfillment of self. I am influenced by the movement of nature, calligraphy, graffiti and ancient designs such as baybayin, Paisley, sacred geometry. I love to blend realism into my work because a lot of people don’t like abstract due to not being able to not understand so this helps me connect with that realm of people as well. I use both aerosol and paint brush to freestyle create my murals. Lots of layering of creating and destroying until I’m content about the masterpiece. What also makes the mural Beautiful is the community around the peace while I’m creating it.
Rejuvenated by her beauty, the spirit within reconnects with its origins. The forgetful mind once again feels a sense of purpose. It remembers, he is not here to rule, but to serve.

Springing into Spring, nature’s rejuvenation. So wonderful to revisit a favourite woodland scene along the Glendale Trail from last year in Autumn but now in Spring. Saanich, Vancouver Island, BC.

Poplars and aspens are among other shrubs and grasses which are reestablishing themselves in a canyon which suffered a fire several years ago.

Mother nature heals. A fallen tree is rejuvenated when the moss covers it with green. In this deep mossy forest, nothing really dies away.
A massive rejuvenation project has started with the vegetation work on Dukes Mound. The area has, over many many years become overgrown particularly with 20-30’ tamarisk shrubs. One aim is for people walking through the area to be able to see the sea. We certainly can today.
