This is an Osprey nest at the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge, in the upper right of the photograph at the top of the wooden extension is a camera. You can take a look anytime day or night at: www.friendsofblackwater.org/camhtm.html and you might see an eagle, since they always seem to perch there, but you will have to wait until spring to see Ospreys.
Je ne peux me résoudre à voir la vie en noir et blanc (Patrice)
I cannot resign myself to look at the life through black and white (Patrice)
Today the human took my little house refuge away and brought it down to the basement. I tried to stop her, I tried to trip her, but I wasn't big enough. Not only did she bring it down into the basement, she's going to turn it into a bird condo. Just wait until next summer...... plenty of carnage photos I promise!
What did she replace my 5 room refuge with the broken roof with, a victorian mansion that belongs to the turkey-thief with a full roof so I can't hide or sleep in it. Think I'll move into the basement.
Dedicated to all women who every day have to endure and endure all the obstacles that life brings them.
My great admiration for yourselves
Only adult bald eagle I saw within photo range. Near the very top of the tree so had to crop some.
A few more photos from Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge near Mound City, Missouri. Not happy with many of the photos taken due to focus and exposure issues but saving some to albums.
...my quick getaway in Yarmouth....yearned for moments of solitude and tranquility....after so many bitter years in the fishermen's darkest net....
Beautiful sunset. This is the stylized version of my photograph.

I traveled for four days to reach this place. Place where Ejina or Populus diversifolia thrives well. This swamp is in the middle of its desert. a beautiful place worth the visit.
Bushtit, actually...

Up high in a quiet place.
.
Amidst the branches, up high, with the wind moving the leaves, there's a quiet place. Still enjoying our test run of the great @wildling.shoes !

probably my most ambitious HDR panorama to date, almost 80 photos but what a view inside this church on thomas street.
" La vérité, c'est qu'il y a des moments dans l'histoire, des moments comme celui que nous vivons, où tout ce qui empêche l'homme de désespérer, tout ce qui lui permet de croire et de continuer à vivre, a besoin d'une cachette, d'un refuge. Ce refuge, parfois, c'est seulement une chanson, un poème, une musique, un livre. " (Romain Gary)
A prairie dog popped its head up to check me out just long enough for me to snap a couple of photos. Edit on 3/10/17 - after some research, it appears that this is a Richardson's ground squirrel, not a prairie dog. Being from Florida, I didn't know the difference :)
Snow geese awaken in the morning at Colusa Wildlife Refuge. Later that morning most had taken off to feed elsewhere in the reserve.
Ross's geese is very similar to snow geese. By comparing other photos, I think these are Ross's geese.
I have always wanted to build a floating rock. This one is floating above a snowy land ravaged by war. A lone survivor lives with wind power generators, a small farm, and (I have always loved the thought of it) a waterfall wheel.
Also, this stands up entirely on its own... no supports!
Take refuge in the beauty of nature!
Our dog park, our former dump, with gorgeous sunsets like this sure has become my not so little paradise, my haven, my place of solace and entertainment (watching dogs, interacting with their custodians and hunting for images) only minutes away from home. I remember feeling like I was walking inside a painting that glorious evening.
