I made this refracting telescope about 20 years ago and just recently added a new focuser that allows me to use it as a camera lens. The lens is Navy surplus.
The sun catches the vapor streaming off of an F-22 Raptor during a full power climb and creates some beautiful colors.
REFRACTOR can serve as a gathering place, a sidewalk movie theater, a lecture space, and more our only rule is it has to occur in a publically accessible space. REFRACTOR will be on display during the Seattle Design Festival Block Party on Sept. 12-13 (see seattledesignfest.info)

I took so many shots of this and a chandelier for this item and I'm not completely happy with any of them (so what else is new?). I imagined this would look different but this is what I got.
For ANSH #3 light refracting through a glass object. Or am I getting this wrong? There is light involved and a glass but I've got a tangelo in the mix. ???? After looking at Wikipedia, the example of light refraction in this photo is the curved reflection of the table, right? I know that the tiny rainbows you see from crystals are clear examples of refraction but I'm trying for something different. If this is wrong, I've got a backup. Let me know...

On 18 years seeing daily amazing sunrises from window, this was the only one showing this extraordinary refraction effect.
The Monkey Head Nebula is an emission nebula in Orion and is about 6400 ly distant. Image was taken with AR6 refractor telescope and Starshoot Pro camera from backyard. 28X5 minute subs plus 25X5 minute subs taken through an H-alpha filter.
Update- I've revisited this and reprocessed the Pixinsight masters with BlurExterminator to further enhance the nebula and help to reduce the oblong stars. A much better result, given my beginner processing skills.
- This is my latest image. After spending the past year further automating my imaging setup and moving to a shorter FL refractor with an OAG, I'm moving forward again. IC 1805 or Sh2-190 is located in Cassiopeia next to IC 1848 or Sh2-199. With this shorter, 400mm refractor I was able to properly frame the nebula, something that I want to do and re-image IC 1848. Imaging details: Eon80 with .8 AT8R reducer and MoonLite focuser. QHY163M, CFW3, OAG-M with STi-M guide cam on my Mach 1. Captured with N.I.N.A. / Phd-2 and processed with Pixinsight / CS6. RGB - 60 mins, Lum - 45 mins, Ha - 138 mins. 15 & 16 Aug 2023, City of the Rocks, Idaho.

This is a good example of light refraction.
If a subject wears glasses I often have them look straight at the camera, or nearly so, to prevent refraction.
Or I have them take off their glasses.
Any other tips ?
