Here we are, 21 years past a massive national tragedy, and in the midst of another tragedy. I was 10 when 9/11 happened. At the time, I thought the world was ending. As I grew older, I realized more and more that I had lived through an event that changed the world in ways subtle and obvious. I have that feeling again, now. Much as we were on that bright September day in 2001, our shortcomings and inadequacies are laid bare. May we rebuild stronger and better and kinder and wiser, as we have done before.

I learned recently that pavement of a darker color in front of the Tokyo station turns like water mirror when it rains.
The station building made of bricks is lit up every night and I just wanted to photograph its reflected image during blue hour on a rainy day.
Composition and the angle are limited because the improvement work of the station square is ongoing, though, the different point of view on a rainy day emphasises the magnificent beauty of the historic architecture.
Special thanks to Taro Otsuka (@siestaonsunday) for the helpful hint in his twitter.
captured on broadway, this photograph features a man taking a brief respite. just as he notices the camera, he acknowledges it with a smile, embodying a moment of spontaneous connection and perhaps a lesson in openness for us all. the reflection in the window creates a captivating symmetry, emphasizing the urban environment and the human element within it. this candid shot highlights the beauty of everyday encounters in the city.
New York, a photographers view can be somewhat different than that of a "normal" tourist.
Go low and change your perspective.
Use every day elements to get a different shot.
I saw the amazing cloud formation reflected on the dock this morning so grabbed my camera - yet another day when the housework doesn't get done! If you have time it looks better large.
Monday's sunrise was something to behold. Autumn colours reflecting in the city architecture, illuminating the iconic (and divisive Selfridges building).
Taken today on a little trip out with Rob Funffinger.
