Some bright red/orange leaves are in direct contrast with some green leaves in a darkly clouded sky.
This beautiful specimen of a Red Grasshawk was dark red with strong black lines on its wings and orange spots before its transparent wing tips. Quite a tiny dragonfly with only about 40 mm total wingspan, yet it did me the favour of casting this nice drop shadow on the half rolled up leaf. Shot in Malaysia with the Canon 180 mm macro lens at full open aperture.

I have been watching this red camellia out of my bedroom window and this morning it had popped... I love when the flowers start coming out.. Seems it is so quick because we have waited so long...
Red Wine, my favourite tipple. Picture was taken at home with blue paper as the background. The starburts with added in PS Elements.
The roses on campus have been really slow to recover this year, but there's one area over by the administration buildings that's thriving. Where most of the roses on campus are just now putting forth leaves, these are in full bloom. I don't understand why, but I'm glad for it.
