After a treacherous 2 hour drive to Richmond Park, it was like a winter wonderland. Seeing the majestic Red Deer Stags amidst the frozen wasteland was a sight to see.

Red sun in Woodinville WA caused by wildfires some 250 miles away in Washington and Oregon states.
Note the sun spots.
Wikipedia: The red-whiskered bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus), or crested bulbul, is a passerine bird found in Asia. It is a member of the bulbul family. It is a resident frugivore found mainly in tropical Asia. It has been introduced in many tropical areas of the world where populations have established themselves. It feeds on fruits and small insects. Red-whiskered bulbuls perch conspicuously on trees and have a loud three or four note call. They are very common in hill forests and urban gardens within their range.

Red box
Inside this little red box is a small and very precious porcelain fairy...a wonderful little keepsake. SEE THE FAIRY IN THE FIRST COMMENT BOX.
This little fairy (3" tall) was made by my very dear friend Glad who is sadly no longer with us. This special fairy always has pride of place on our Christmas tree.
Glad used to teach the art of producing and decorating porcelain dolls, she used to call her pupils her 'dolly ladies'. It must have been a fantastic class to attend because Glad was so full of fun, such a jolly lady and a lover of art...all 4ft 11 inches of her!

Male - right - Female - left side. The Red-necked Tanager is a beautiful tanager, with mainly bright grass green underparts; a brilliant scarlet-red chin that broadens over the cheeks, neck, and nape; a dark blue crown and throat; and orange-yellow wing-coverts. The species is restricted to eastern South America; it is almost endemic to eastern Brazil, but the distribution also extends to adjacent eastern Paraguay and northeastern Argentina. This couple was visiting the feeders of Sítio Espinheiro Negro, São Paulo, Brazil.

Warm temps and a steady rain brought out an abundance of these fellows yesterday at my school. I've a few more more to post as time passes, but this is the only full-bodied one I could get. They are quicker than one might think.
