Recreating (in FSX) the first F-16's test flights at Edwards AFB, February 1974.

Foreground: Victoria Beach, Laguna Beach, CA 03-25-22

Background: Redondo Beach, CA 02-22-22

Images combined and processed in Photoshop 2022. Unlike most of the composites I create these days, in which I at least try to match the time of day and sun position, in this image combination, the foreground wave splash was shot in the late afternoon under a thick marine layer, with no sun at all and the background sunset was photographed about 75 miles north right after a short burst of rain.

Dreams

By Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams

For if dreams die

Life is a broken-winged bird

That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams

For when dreams go

Life is a barren field

Frozen with snow.

That wooden palace in "Kolomenskoye". The palace has been constructed in a XVII-th century, him named the eighth miracle of the world. But in 1767 the decision to disassemble it a masterpiece was accepted. The present structure represents a breadboard model of the Palace of Alexey Mihajlovicha full-scale. Building was conducted under the drawings made on command of Catherine II. However the new structure isn't completely wooden: all designs monolithic, ferro-concrete, covered then logs. Orientation concerning parts of the world also is broken — the breadboard model has been turned round a vertical axis on 90 degrees that has completely broken sacral sense of an initial structure. On September, 4th, 2010 Yury Luzhkov has opened the recreated palace.

I was finally able to stitch together 7 shots taken at the edge of the cliff with a good sky thrown in. This is what I saw when I stood there. Now I can say good bye to 2015.

花了很多功夫总算把这7张图拼接成功,而且有美丽的晚霞。我可以去睡觉了

If I could save time in a bottle

The first thing that I'd like to do

Is to save every day 'til eternity passes away

Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever

If words could make wishes come true

I'd save every day like a treasure, and then

Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seems to be enough time

To do the things you want to do once you find them

I've looked around enough to know

That you're the one I want to go through time with

If I had a box just for wishes

And dreams that had never come true

The box would be empty

Except for the memory of how they were answered by you

But there never seems to be enough time

To do the things you want to do once you find them

I've looked around enough to know

That you're the one I want to go through time with

Recreating the golden age of steam… Battle of Britain class steam locomotive No. 34072, named ‘257 Squadron’, with a rake of four British Rail green coaches, thunders towards Swanage in Dorset during a Martin Creese 30742 Charters event. 257 Squadron was built at Brighton Works and completed in 1948.

I took this photo of the Wolf Moon (the first full moon of 2022) on 18th January 2022. It appeared so near and large and I used a similar technique to the one I used with one of my first photographs added to Flickr, with the setting sun, framing the moon with some garden foliage.

Since my first upload of the setting sun in 2015 I have become confident converting a number of my colour photographs to black and white (as is the case with this one). I really enjoy the creativity that I can achieve with tonal values in black and white images.

It was interesting to see that this image was also taken with a trusty compact (three versions later), although I now have a bridge camera and a 4/3 mirrorless camera.

National Park Krka, Croatia

We returned last night from attending a wake for my husband's best friend who he had known since 4th grade to find that additional forest closures had been mandated related to the Pack Creek Fire to some of the areas where my husband and I recreate on a regular basis, in particular, Medicine Lake.

My husband is a Vietnam Veteran. Physical activity is his therapy. The back side of the La Sals provide a restorative environment where he can run, ski, bike, and hike. He clears deadfall and debris from running and bicycle trails in the spring and has bagged every peak in the range.

We live on the saddle of South Mountain and cut down dead aspen in the fall for firewood. We were married in the La Sals. The La Sal mountains are our life. The mountains are our medicine.

June 22, Operation Barbarossa -

As the infantry runs ahead, we hold back and set up against a house. The soviets were not ready at all but we were. I opened up the MG-34 shot one round after another. The infantry moved up under the cover of fire. The fighting has just begun, who knows how long it will last?

I bought this hand made sculpture in Crete

some 30 years ago as a true 3D

replica of a restored mural in the bronze age palace of Knossos where the scene is set against a blue backdrop which I have tried to recreate here.

Sports, stunt or religion? I suppose we shall never have the exact answer as there are no written records and your imagination is as good as anyone else's. Likewise whether its depicting an aurochs or simply a domesticated bull. Some have maintained that the brown male is a worker, whilst the two white dames belong to the nobilty and so shed light on bronze age class society, and I suppose there is much more to be imagined and uttered.

While there have been many attempts to recreate the process of flying, none have come closer to paragliding.

Switzerland is often thought of as heaven on earth due to its mesmerizing and spectacular views. Looking at this paradise while soaring in the sky is an extraordinary experience.

People who’ve done it describe the experience as fascinating and almost like being a bird.

I'm happy enough just by photographing them from afar 😊; having a zoom lens would have been wonderful but not possible when traveling light.

(There are two paraglides in this photo.)

Thank you for having a look, dear Flickr friend, I wish you a fine day!🌹🌷🌺

Recreated as a permanent exhibition at the Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin.

This small cottage in the Scottish village of Plockton is very similar to those that once covered the Scottish country side a century or so ago.

I managed to edit out all the modern elements but there are still some remnants of the edit if you look close enough ;-)

This is a manipulated canal scene. The canal itself has been built to ensure the historical vision of a past port, especially of coal. It is now a rest place for people wanting a silent moment in the City.

The photo I was trying to recreate (for a 52Photos group challenge) is the winner of the 2016 Landscape Photographer of the Year award, 'Starling Vortex' by Matthew Cattell. OK, this didn't work, but I hope you'll give me 2 out of 10 for trying. :)

Here's a link to Matthew Cattell's wonderful image for comparison:

I had headed down to Brighton, convinced it would be windy (as it usually is) with some lovely waves, but when I arrived I found the sea was as calm as a mill pond. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever seen it so calm. It looked like a long exposure without even trying! My image includes the West Pier and some blurred starlings, but that's where the similarities end. Ah well, I did my best in the circumstances. If only this challenge had been earlier in the year (see image in Comments below). :))

I first noticed this technique of blowing out the highlight detail at an art exhibit and have always wanted to recreate it.

:-)

My son helped me by creating the city in background and in finding the workers...
