Last year we managed to score tickets and travel to the Major League Soccer Cup Championship match in Columbus, Ohio. There is so much about that trip that I’ll remember for the rest of my life. One of my strongest memories is the post-game celebrations where hundreds of fans poured into a local bar where we sang team songs and show tunes, and made a lot of new friends. These four gentlemen kept us company for much of the night, and I hope to see them again at some other celebratory event.
A polar vortex descended on Portland today, and I went out to play. Portland has no idea how to handle this much snow, but it's delightful.
The Portland Thorns (women's football club, also the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS) wanted pictures of Thorns snow-angels. That didn't work out exposure wise, but this did.
The snow is crazy - all of Portland shuts down.

RCTID - Those letters stand for Rose City Til I Die, and people here in Portland like to live by that creed, even to the point of inking themselves with RCTID tattoos. It's not just the Portland Timbers that have this effect, it's the city itself that inspires such devotion, and views like this explain why. At least a little bit.
