La fin des danseuses, l'arrivée des RC PACA et leur redécoration, pas mal de changement mais toujours du bon vieil inox ! Voici sous un décor enneigé et glacé du côté de Steinbourg la BB 22270 RC dans sa livrée Grand-Est. Elle assure le TER 830118 en provenance de Strasbourg et file vers Saverne avec une trainée de neige.
Backyard Kinglet This is from 2014. A most memorable photo op since these little birds were near our screened patio and quite close. Unfortunately, I have yet to see one of these in Massachusetts. Only the GC Kinglets.
I set out yesterday morning to get the sunrise at Watson Lake. It was a bust, my fault not the sun's. On the way out I met two gentlemen and their RC Boats.
SJ rst 577 Gävle - Borlänge - Mjölby is stopping at Örebro C. Hauled by Rc2 1100, most carriages date back to the fourties.
Back in 1986 any passenger traffic on swedish heavy rails was operated by state railways SJ and was mostly loco hauled except diesel lines and local traffic around Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö.
Access to the second platform was via a level crossing, that was protected by the canopies.

Bit of a last minute build for #febrovery I wanted to play around with some brickbuilt wheels as I haven’t really tried it before. They turned out reasonable strong so I quickly made a quick rc 8x8 chassis to see how well they would hold up. They turned out to be pretty strong so I made a body for the little rover. The build itself only took about 3 days to make.
1x Lego Powered Up AA battery pack, 2x Lego Powered Up S motors and 1x Lego Spikes Essentials colour sensor for the light.
Wolffe done. After about 8+ Hours of work. I'm done. I hope you appreciate it, as It's going to be hard to let him go.

The West end of Hobson Yard is right under the approach end of runway 36 at Lincoln's airport. This afternoon, this Boeing RC-135 was doing touch-and-gos on the opposite end, runway 18, climbing up above our heads.

United States Air Force Boeing RC-135V 64-14844 departing RAF Mildenhall.
This aircraft is assigned to 55th Wg, 38th RS at Lincoln.
This picture was made at the Central Coast Airshow 2024 at Warnervale Airport NSW, Australia. This is not a full-size airplane, but an amazingly detailed and highly functional RC airplane.
The inspiration for this build was the wide bike tyres from the Harley Davidson set. I thought the wider tyre had potential for a hub less wheel design. After a few prototypes I managed to get a design that worked reasonably well. The drive motors had to be geared down heavily to provide enough torque to turn the wheels. Where the tyres are only held in by friction there is still quite a lot of slip from the drive wheel turning the larger tyre. I did play around with a design with one small wheel inside the larger tyre and another small wheel on top pinching the larger tyre. Unfortunately getting both of those to drive the tyre just ended up being way too bulky so I settled for just one drive wheel. It was definitely a fun challenge trying to find a balance between having enough torque and trying to minimise the amount of slip from the drive wheel turning the tyre.
This model is powered by 2 powered up XL motors for drive and one powered up L motor for steering.
This build was originally planned for #febrovery and was very close to being finished but unfortunately I had to put it to the side for a little while. Only 7 months later I managed to get round to finishing it.

I took around fifty shots and this is the only one that's even half a decent. A fast moving small target is s a pain to focus. In my case luck and amount of snaps does the job, or not.
