This Great Blue Heron was catching a few rays, down by Lost Lagoon.

This was taken just after a rainstorm. The pier is the main fishing pier in Roseau the capital city of Dominica in the west indies. A graduated filter was used to enable a slower shutter speed.

In the chaos and darkness that life presents, a ray of hope shines on you allowing you to triumphantly rise to new growth, new life, and a new future

Stephen Ray Vaughan (also known as SRV; October 3, 1954 – August 27, 1990) was an American musician, best known as the guitarist and frontman of the blues rock trio Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. Although his mainstream career spanned only seven years, he is regarded as one of the most influential musicians in the history of blues music, and one of the greatest guitarists of all time. He was the younger brother of guitarist Jimmie Vaughan

This ray of light became visible yesterday for about 10 minutes while I was taking photos at the beach.

I was really late for the sunset when I decided to go out and take some pictures... But I managed to catch exactly the last ray of the day :)

Experiment with lights. Just for a change ;-)

Another photo of some of the glorious crepuscular rays seen highlighting the Upper Derwent Valley a few weeks ago.

So sad, my friend's dog Ray, passed away on Sunday.

Thanks for your visit, , comments and faves!

Obrigada pela visita e comentários meus amigos!

This is from my archives - taken about a year and a half ago down at the River Lea early one morning - the light as you can see was perfect! The thing with rays of light like this is that they disappear in a moment - but I was so pleased to be in the right place at the right time!

Thank you so much for all your kind messages. It means a lot but instead of thanking you all individually I wii go and check out your work!

Evening sun rays seen from Zabriskie Point during one of our Death Valley workshops earlier this month.

Visible from Oxfordshire between 2:55 and 3:10pm GMT

I was driving home when I saw these but it took a few minutes before I found somewhere safe to pull over to take a photo with my Samgsung Galaxy S5 phone camera

Anticrepuscular rays are visible on the opposite side of the sky from the Sun, with the rays appearing to converge at the anti-solar point. This is a line of sight effect; the rays are in fact parallel but they appear to converge on the Sun and antisolar point in the same way that a long road or railway track appears to converge in the far distance. They are not a rare phenomenon, but very often we focus on the rays visible around the Sun. Whenever conditions are favourable for crepuscular rays, it's always worth looking in the opposite direction to see if any anticrepuscular rays are visible

Neolithic rays - Crepuscular rays at sunset at the Standing Stones of Stenness

A dramatic sunset laced with crepuscular rays marks the end of a day at the Heart of Neolithic Orkney. These are the three largest remaining stones forming part of the Standing Stones of Stenness. Situated on Mainland Orkney on an isthmus between the Lochs of Stenness and Harray and close to the Ring of Brodgar and Maeshowe chambered cairn. This 5m high Neolithic henge structure is believed to be the oldest set of standing stones in the British Isles. Estimates date the construction of the stone henge circle to circa 3100BC - over 5000 years ago.

The Sun's rays break through an otherwise cloudy afternoon

this sunset was taken at an altitude(height) of 22000 feet above sea level while returning to Male' from Gan.

View from the summit of Mount Rocciamelone (3.538 meters / 11,603 feet), Susa Valley, Italy, looking towards Mount Chaberton.

Rather than the classic carpet of clouds here it's possible to see the haze of the evening caressed by the slanting rays of the imminent sunset.

I really enjoy a day with great clouds.

Sun rays seem to diverge from the tree canopy and cast beautiful shadows on a frosted field of grass on a winter morning.
