Sunrise is my favorite time at the Grand Canyon. It's quiet, mystical, and relatively people free. Before the sun begins to pour down over the eastern edge of the canyon, its early rays light the upper strata of the Paleozoic rocks on fire.
On a day where the cloud cover was fairly thick above, the lower Supergroup Formation never became colorful. But for this one moment, the subtle beauty of that thin ray of hope made the early morning wake-up worthwhile.
The golden-rayed lily or gold band lily (Lilium auratum) is a lily native to Japan. It is now cultivated in many places around the world. Its hybrid with another lily yielded an Oriental hybrid, Casablanca. Photo was taken at Higashiyama Botanical Garden, Nagoya, Japan.

The light beams in Antelope Canyon are some of the most famous features and something that has always eluded me. They are best viewed when the sun is high in the sky.
More rays! This time a diagonal burst highlighting the coppery ferns in Hillock Wood, Buckinghamshire.

This is a telephoto of the previous image, I prefer it. Originally I thought all my landscape photography needed to be shot much wider. I find some scenes really benefits from the narrower focus. Bringing you further into the image, showing you more detail. I really do enjoy the telephoto side of photography more than I thought I would. It of course will be a learning experience to figure out when to use each lens, and where... always learning when I go out, always trying to improve every aspect of my photography, and take my viewers on a journey.

Shettihalli Church is located 2 km from Shettihalli, Hassan, in Karnataka. Built in the 1860s by the French missionaries in India, the church is a magnificent structure of Gothic Architecture. After the construction of the Hemavati Dam and Reservoir in 1960 the church was abandoned.
