On this Saturday September 2nd ,2023 late morning, we see Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s office Sergeant Jerry Sparks talk with two men outside of Mo’s Place in Pantano. As another guy heads for his SUV after buying some fishing gear .
With temps in the mid 90s and still no rain insight . They are glad to see Eagle Lake, a man made reservoir about 28 miles north of here still hovering around 19% full ,but hope for a good snowpack this upcoming winter as the 2023 monsoon is really no show so far . With water still flowing out of Eagle Lake, the Rio Grande is still flowing through the Marsh here so fishing has been okay .
Mo’s Place is owned by Ivy Moshoes and one of three places, one here in Pantano ( original ) , one on Eagle lake ( it shares property with Cat’s Marine and Auto repair ) in the Winter Cove Area and one in Rio Caballo in Sweetwater county . Rio Caballo in tribute to the Rio Grande river and Mo’s Place was opened in the 1940s by Ivy’s Great Grandpa .

Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s office Deputy Amanda Wisey assisted County volunteer Fire Station 6 ( Sparta 1 ) with a gas leak on Hill street in Sparta . Scene investigation ,the gas company responded and the leak was repaired. Scene cleared .

With Gates of Eagle Lake dam “ closed “ In spring, winter, and late Fall it is common for cattle to enter Sparta after crossing the mostly dry Rio Grande after people carelessly leave gates open that border the city limit with BLM lands.
Using Tims truck to try rolling out some of the tire ruts in our yard from all the trucks during last years construction and remodel project. I'll help him tune-up his new Ducati this weekend in return.
On this Wednesday, Jan 15th, 2025 afternoon, we see a US Border Patrol agent getting back into his unit after having a meeting with Hazzard Range County Sheriff's Office Undersheriff Ron Bayerd and Investigators Taylor Sportisburg and Clint Dallas.

Hazzard Range County sheriff’s office Deputy Jason Hernandez arrested a 27 year old Female for DWI on Old Mill rd west of Rio Grande Bridge . . She failed a field sobriety test and blew a 0.18 and 0.19 during a breath alcohol content test. Transported to detention center/car towed to impound yard .

On Saturday, Sept 7thr,2024 evening, local county officials, Sparta/Hazzard Range County Chamber of Commerce members, and residents gathered for the dedication of a new remembrance Statue in Government Center Park next to the County Government Center in Sparta, the county seat.
District 4 County Commissioner /Vice Chair Megan Reeves was a keynote speaker about the Remembrance Statue as a way to honor the U.S. Military personnel who lost their lives or were injured serving in the United States Armed Forces in the past, current, and future at home and abroad.
Also speaking was County Public Works Dept Superintendent Sherry Diff who noted cooperation between local civic groups, businesses, the county, and State House Representative this project would not be done. On hand were District 4 County Commissioner /Vice Chair Megan Reeves, County Public Works Dept Superintendent Sherry Diff, Sheriff Troy Forbes, Chamber of Commerce President Johnny Woodward, and Historical Society director Ron Otero.

Brand new 2025 Case B recolour of the Hot Wheels 2020 Ram 1500 Rebel, a casting which has thankfully remained either stock or given believable liveries throughout its life. This new release is some kind of unspecified rescue vehicle but a livery which kind of suits its chunky off-road style. A two hit tampo means front detailing and side decor only.

Muddy Spring has a population of about 1500, it is located 14 miles north of the county line and is about 18 miles south of Apache, the county seat of Apache County.
Railbridge Street is “Main St “ For Muddy Spring and goes under BNSF railroad tracks just east of the townsite before turning and heading southeast ending just past Spring cemetery
State RD 33 before the 1960s used to enter Muddy Spring on what is now South Depot St and then head west sharing on Railbridge. In the early 1960s when I 25 was built, NMDOT Rerouted NM 33 just bypassing downtown Muddy Spring.
