et me start by introducing the MRL, The Mecha Racing League.
This is a new project I want to try and you are all invited to join, the idea is to build Mechs that will participate in ground races, where there are 3 modes:
Speed: A race to the goal with different obstacles.
Rumble: A Battle in the likes of roller derby.
Combo: Capture the flag mode, where Speeders and Rumblers mix in teams to defend and capture flags.
If you want to join the fun, and build your own MLR racer, just follow these simple rules:
- The mech must have a pilot, and the pilot has to be “racer cool” (You know what I mean, like a personality)
- Define your mech type, speed or rumble, name it and sell the concept, all mech must be ground based, they can jump or hover for limited time, but this is about ground racing.
- No guns or weapons, this is about speed or headbutting with other mechs
Now, the showcase:

Type: Rumble
Pilot: Niko Rocco
Special Ability: Hyper ram!
Description: Gigas was build for speed and strength! It will hit hard, but the armor is not as heavy as to be a full defence rumble mech, the arm wheels allow for a high speed low ground charge (Hyper Ram!) that will take down anything in front of it, but the downside, the turning of the move is limited.
Team ResQ enters the IG-1 series for their first time ever this year, can their Forward Alex Carpenter win big this year? Only time will tell in this year's Immortal Grand Prix!
Based off of the racing mecha of Team Satomi in the anime IGPX.

Glad I finally picked up some Bionicle/Hero Factory parts again, I had a blast building this. The "Team ResQ" idea came from the yellow fin that I had, I thought it was one of the most useless parts ever until I incorporated it into this, I love it!

Lit by one Nikon SB700 on a tripod to camera left on the inside of the corner triggered by a Pocket Wizard and shot with my fantastic 80-200f2.8 AFD lens which I think is the greatest lens ever ( certainly that I can afford )
Jason over at the Nikon Cafe contacted me regarding the British Superbike Chamionship, which has established the CJ Riders fund. (A young racer was killed (Chris Jones) and his parents have sent up a charity with all proceeds going towards medical equipment, air ambulance, portable MRI scanners etc etc for the riders saftey. He asked me to re-touch one of his photos to be auctioned off at the fund raiser. I hope this one makes him some money. Best viewed at full size.

Martini Racing Lancia LC2/83
The Lancia LC2 (sometimes referred to as the Lancia-Ferrari) was a series of racing cars built by Italian automobile manufacturer Lancia and powered by engines built by their sister company Ferrari.
They were part of Lancia's official factory-backed effort in the World Sportscar Championship from 1983 to 1986, although they continued to be used by privateer teams until 1991. They were also the company's first car meeting the FIA's new Group C regulations for sports prototypes.
