Take a deep breath, it calms the mind.
Only 10 minutes easy walk from my home is a peaceful and un-spoilt natural wetland, bush reserve. It is situated right in the middle of one of Masterton's residential area and at a busy road junction.
Except for the background traffic sound, one could be in the middle of our bush, miles form anywhere.
It only takes 10 minutes ( 1 hour with a camera) to walk around this wild-life paradise, but the native trees, grasses and birds to be seen are intense.

Two sets of inappropriate quotation marks for the price of one! So, basically, if you see something that really belongs on the floor, don't pick it up? OK.

Fractals often flirt with reality. They can, on a good day, resemble things that we *almost* recognise. If this one was green, it could be mistaken for a close up of some kind of large leaf.
"Children today are tyrants. They contradict their parents, gobble their food, and tyrannize their teachers" - Socrates.
And this is the Socrates that was living Before Christ...

I provide a quotation for the Crawley Camera Club website every month (well nearly every month) since 2005
"the tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing which stands in their way."
- william blake
At the IPSE photographic workshop run by the photographer Clare Strand, she got us to cut up magazine photos into small pieces. We sorted them into interesting and not-interesting piles until we got to just one picture. Then we chose a quotation to go with it.
Pictures from Punch. 19th Century.
The "bad quarter of an hour" to which he refers is obviously the wrong quotation but look at him and look at her.
She has the self-assured look of an American about her (alright I could be wrong) and he has got the asinine expression, the weak chin, the tight crossed legs, the glib grin and the monacle (FER GOODNESS SAKES THE MONACLE) of the British twit.
We can't really complain when Americans use this stereotype ~ ~ ~ WE BRITS BLOODY INVENTED IT!
Quotation: Too Many!
Lola: "Mom, what's your favorite quotation?"
Mom: "That's tough; I probably have a lot of favorites...'Ask not...'"
Lola (interrupts): "And how are you going to take a picture of me that fits in with that? Stop looking confused, Mom! Think of something that makes you happy."
Mom: "I was thinking of a song I really like by Gerry Rafferty. I hadn't heard it for a long
time until recently. That it's come back to me makes me happy because I really appreciate the words more..."
"Out on the street I was talkin' to a man
He said, "There's so much of this life of mine that I don't understand"
You shouldn't worry, I said, that ain't no crime
Cause if you get it wrong you'll get it right next time.
You need direction, you need a name
When you're standing in the crossroads every highway looks the same
After a while you can recognize the signs
So if you get it wrong you'll get it right next time.
Life is a liar, life is a cheat
It'll lead you on and pull the ground from underneath your feet
No use complainin', don't you worry, don't you whine
Cause if you get it wrong you'll get it right next time.
You gotta grow, you gotta learn by your mistakes
You gotta die a little everyday just to try to stay awake
When you believe there's no mountain you can climb.
If you get it wrong you'll get it right next time."
