52 weeks in 2016 ... down low ...

... this was quite the challenge ... Drift would nót lie still as I was flat on my belly (not something we're used to haha) and I wanted the shot at f 1.4 for the bokeh and that's kinda difficult if your dog is constantly moving or coming towards you ... but we did it !

Generally quite dark compared to other orb web spiders and can be found close to water where their webs are spun on fencing, buildings and bridges and rarely on vegetation. Close to a river near me where I live a river flows under a road in a tunnel these Orbweb spiders can be found and seen in their webs close to the lights that help to light up the pathway where they have the best of both worlds, warmth from the lights where I have even seen the adults spiders here in February with snow outside and plus their prey such as moths and flies are attracted to the lights also. Its amazing to see their webs so close together and not eating each other, nature can be truly amazing at times.

First year male Goosander

Quite a stand out feature in the cactus gardens.

A green-bee eater perched on the electric wire

Long Tailed Tit (Aegithalos caudatus). Long Tailed Tit showing off - holding on with one foot while busy eating with the other :D

**** I am pretty sure this is a Male Reed Bunting . They are about the same size as a sparrow and quite attractive birds. This was taken On Midsummers day 2018 in the trees that lead to the cliffs at RSPB Bempton in East Yorkshire

THANKS FOR YOUR VISITING BUT CAN I ASK YOU NOT TO FAVE AN IMAGE WITHOUT ALSO MAKING A COMMENT. MANY THANKS KEITH.

At the Old Jewish Cemetery in Prague. This cemetery was in use from around the early 15th century up to the late 19th - then the area was completely full and a new cemetery was needed.

It is estimated that some 100 000 persons have been buried here, and there are around 12 000 tombstones preserved.

Quite until mom or dad return with a snack from the swamp!

This is part of the Nidderdale Way footpath between hamlet of Hayshaw and the village of Dacre Banks in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire looking towards Dacre Banks

The path across this field of rough grazing is quite indistinct so it was a relief to reach the gate.

It was quite a stormy day and the tugs had to struggle to push the empty bulker against the wind to its berth respectively to keep it away from the opposite side of the basin, as can be seen in the picture.

It was quite a climb but it was worth it for the panoramic views including this view of the Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. It gives you a good look at the famous crenellated towers.

In the desert areas of Morocco kasbah means a large estate home like a manor house in English or hacienda in Spanish. The beautiful Kasbah Ait Benhaddou has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and has been the location for many movies. It sits in a small oasis next to a mostly dry stream bed with towering hills of stone behind it.

Found this spiky little beauty in my garden today right during the hour of sunset. I've noticed these caterpillars(Unknown ID) quite a few times now and they seem to be very fond of the flower buds. Spotted two of these guys today and took some snaps and this was one of the decent ones.

Thanks everyone for viewing and your comments are largely appreciated!!

Beautiful sunset over North Star Lake in the Chippewa National Forest near Marcell, Minnesota.

Photo was taken from my campsite at the North Star Lake National Forest Campground on Minnesota Highway 38, aka the Edge of the Wilderness Scenic Byway.

This stretch of highway is one of the most scenic in the state. The Highway 38 road bed still retains a fair amount of its original upsy-downsy curvyness. It goes north out of Grand Rapids and runs until it intersects Minnesota Highway 1 in Effie.

Standing quite alone, far in the forest, while the wind is shaking down snow from the trees, and leaving the only human tracks behind us, we find our reflections of a richer variety than the life of cities.

This Cormorant was struggling to swallow the large fish that it had just caught. It did succeed in the end!

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fav my images.

it's always difficult to come up with something different, when you have photographed a bird many times. This pose however fitted the bill perfectly if you'll excuse the pun.

A beach regular and a very welcome one albeit not seen in usual numbers this summer.

As always I extend my sincere gratitude to all who are kind enough to comment and fave my photos or even stop by and just have a look. It is very much appreciated.

Seagulls are quite chatty. They have no problems squawking and letting their voices be heard.

Gulls are social creatures and will communicate with other birds flying above, this was very loud at the harbor, perhaps was complaining about the water being frozen:-)

A Eurasian Collard Dove (Streptopelia decaocto) perched in the Cedar Tree.

I haven't seen any of these for quite awhile, so it was nice to see them return to our garden.

Lily pads seen at Robert H. Long Nature Preserve near Commerce Michigan.

Lately I have been quite busy and had pretty much no time to spend here on Flickr. So I apologize if I haven't been around commenting on your photos. That will change soon hopefully. The good thing is that the weather permitted for a couple of excursions over the past weekends so I got to take a few shots. However, no time means no time to go through and edit them so now that I am slowly coming back to Flickr I am posting a photo from my archive that has already been edited. Quite obvious that this is spring picture and not summer, the grass is very green. I took this one a couple of months ago in a place in New Hampshire that I have never been before: New Castle. New Castle is a small island right at the border of New Hampshire and Maine. Most of the water around it comes from Piscataqua river as it sits right at the edge of its delta. Quite a picturesque place which I will visit again at the right season (Fall). I hope everyone is doing well.

Quite amusing watching these burying their winter stash but always finding time for a snack in between

Two ducks swim away into the mist of Jordan Lake, North Carolina, USA

They are normally quite easily spooked, but this one didn't seem that bothered by me at all! Manningtree estuary.

For quite a few years this armature did it's job in the vacuum control module of my 2001 Audi A4. Eventually the pump parts failed and I could no longer lock any of the doors. I replaced the module and put the old one in a drawer for future dissection, that was around 2008. A contact has been posting his collection of small armatures so I thought I'd see what I could come up with myself. This one was shot with a single light source placed to the right of the camera for the Macro Mondays theme, "Sidelit". The armature measures app. 1 in. X 0.75 in., the copper shaft diameter is 0.25 in.

Keel billed Toucan, (Ramphastos sulfuratus ), seen in the cloud forest of Costa Rica

The keel-billed toucan (Ramphastos sulfuratus), also known as sulfur-breasted toucan, keel toucan, or rainbow-billed toucan, is a colorful Latin American member of the toucan family. It is the national bird of Belize. The species is found in tropical jungles from southern Mexico to Colombia. It is an omnivorous forest bird that feeds on fruits, seeds, insects, invertebrates, lizards, snakes, and small birds and their eggs.

Making quite a sight, four "Super Fleet" FP45's make their first trip together on the Eastbound 893 train on the North Main of Cajon Pass in November of 1989. The quartet included Santa Fe 102, 101, 100 and 104.

Photographing in the woods is always something special for me. Not only that I love to be in the forest, it's the creativ process what is drawing me here again and again. Photographing in the forest is quite ambitious. To find a system inside of this chaos is like searching for the needle in a haystack. So it’s even more delightful when I'm succeeding (what is not hapening every time) and I'm able to create a photograph what is meeting the grade of harmony of a place like this.

Bald Eagle Pair in Westmoreland County, PA

It is quite amazing how much fish a great blue heron can consume during its morning feed, and how much it can swallow at once. In this image the blue heron I had been photographing just caught a large catfish which was about to be swallowed whole.

Spectacle e'e Waterfall , Sandford , Lanarkshire , Scotland .

Spectacle E’e (eye) falls – the unusual name is the result of an incident involving a local lad who fell in love with the miller’s beautiful daughter. The miller disapproved and put an end to the romance. As revenge the lad placed an eye glass in the mill’s thatch. The thatch soon caught fire and the mill was burned to the ground.

On the way to take this I had my own spectacular "FALL" backwards whilst carrying a tripod and baggage. Tripod is now TRASHED .

We even got back to the car before the rain returned.
