The Wood Hyacinths sneaked up on me this year...Was able to get a couple of shots before the storms moved in again...In my back yard...
After getting off work a quick detour was made to Millers Falls to catch Northbound New England Central train 611. The train led by SD40M-2 #3475, SD40-2T #3317(dead), and SD40M-2 #3476 with a train of 0/42 as they cross the Millers Rivers. Photo taken Oct 20, 2017.
Having a special evening with barbecue and bonfire by the sea to keep us warm with new friend from Norway when the sky unexpectedly light up . Had to quickly take a shot to capture the magic moment
It's wonderful to feel the warmth of the sun after a long winter and these little crocus flowers seem to echo that sentiment as they reach out of the shadows to embrace the light. They have to be quick - tonight it snows again.
Today I wanted to take doll photos as weather´s been so lovely and warm lately. :) But didn´t have any luck finding a good place outside. I looked for it for like an hour which made me so thristy and tired that ended up heading home. Hence the super old pics of Fiona. U_U
Some days it pays to get up early!

I'm not feeling very well today, I have a bit of head cold and am feeling a bit sluggish for it.
I did manage to get the tree decorated, but it sort of zapped the energy from me so sitting on the floor I shot a very quick photo for today.
Not very creative, but I do love the lighting from my tree so I'm okay with it!

A quick weekend trip down to Roanoke with some friends led to some good times. The first train we saw was was this 29C with the S&A heritage leading west.

Bear Creek meanders through the local countryside offering quickly running water here for the sights and sounds of a "babbling brook".
It seems that nexus gone crazy over there... just been there to download something, an hour later, it says that I have 73 notifications, yet when I open to see... nothing new, only one new.
so lucky to find this open stall in a market to buy this (GUESS WHAT IT IS) for a quick repair of my back pack
There is a silence near the old stone bridge of Jormua, which is only broken by the quiet wind. But in some cases, roaring trains dominate the sounds of the environment, like in the case of Fenniarail's freight train that is making a quick crossing as Vectron hauls wagons to the other side of the Arctic Circle.
Quick photo stop at Penllyn bridge of tonight sunset over padarn lake and snowdonia mountains in the background wearing a winter coat of snow.Then head over to Menai Bridge for my Chinese takeaway.
I finally got a usable photo of the barn swallow (Hirundo rustica) in flight as well during 2022.
They are hard to catch in their quick flight for insects above the water. I finally found a spot where it was pretty easy to follow their route for a good result.
