Yesterday I questioned, “Why come no one called me this morning and offered me the photographic opportunity of a lifetime.” Well I guess someone in the universe was listening to me because today I got a phone call.
Tony Agee (the graffiti artist that tricked out my MacBook Pro several months ago) hit me up & told me that he was curating an art show at the end of August & requested that I submit some work for display & sale.
Anyway, I can submit up to 4 pieces & I have selected 2 images, The Wave & Flight of the Syrphid Fly.
I need help picking 2 additional pieces, so that means that I need your help choosing. Give me your feedback, please.

This is a closeup shot of that grave that's questionable. I'm actually really amazed how high the quality of the shot was; Night shot with no flash. The original I can zoom all the way in and still see detail.
It's interesting what you see when you go looking. Walking with a camera in hand makes me aware of what's around. Leaving my thoughts in my head, uninterrupted, powerless.
Walking along the cliffs in Polzeath I happened upon a bunch of daffodils. Placed purposely in a small culvert in the grass to protect from the wind. Gentle questions of for whom and why? Guess I'll never know. Understanding will elude but experience flowed. A wave of sadness.

"Sul Dap abbiamo raggiunto un buon accordo. Il nostro è stato un lavoro di approfondimento e di proposta che oggi trova un esito positivo e che rende quel documento più completo e più lungimirante. Certo, rimangono aperte questioni importanti su cui Idv mantiene una posizione che non coincide con quella di altre forze della coalizione. Ma abbiamo sicuramente segnato un punto: sui temi che più da vicino riguardano il futuro dell'Umbria è necessario un dibattito tra le forze di centrosinistra senza pretendere di portare soluzioni a "scatola chiusa" o tentare forzature. Anche perché alla fine i risultati sono tutt'altro che disprezzabili". Questo il commento del capogruppo Idv in Consiglio regionale Oliviero Dottorini e del consigliere Paolo Brutti, segretario regionale Idv, all'approvazione del Documento annuale di programmazione 2011 da parte della prima commissione consiliare.
"Nella nuova versione del Documento - spiegano Dottorini e Brutti - trovano un argine le derive inceneritorie che attraversano purtroppo anche alcuni settori della maggioranza. Rimane la distanza su molti aspetti, ma almeno si fissa il principio che nessuno può pensare di fare salti in avanti senza aver dato impulso a una seria politica di riuso, recupero e raccolta differenziata. Ma anche su temi importanti come politiche per gli anziani, agricoltura, artigianato, ambiente, connessione tra settore turismo-ristorazione e prodotti tipici locali otteniamo dei risultati importanti. Si introducono principi importanti come il policentrismo dell'Umbria e per quanto riguarda le riforme endoregionali la necessità di eliminare gli enti di secondo livello, per individuare in Province e Comuni le istituzioni di decentramento amministrativo. Viene acquisita dal governo regionale anche la necessità di dare applicazione alla legge sugli acquisti ecologici per le amministrazioni pubbliche. Positivo anche l'inserimento della valorizzazione della stampa periodica locale, del commercio equo e del mobile in stile. Certo, rimangono dei temi ancora aperti: sulla riforma delle comunità montane, su alcuni punti importanti del Piano per le infrastrutture e sui rifiuti rimangono posizioni divergenti su cui continueremo a batterci".
"Sicuramente – concludono gli esponenti Idv - dalla prima commissione esce una proposta di risoluzione equilibrata e in grado di prefigurare una regione più attrezzata a fronteggiare la grave crisi economica che sta investendo anche l'Umbria. Il riformismo che Idv intende affermare passa attraverso proposte concrete e costruttive, capaci di inserire elementi di discontinuità nelle politiche regionali".
