AM I WORTHY?
Helen Roseveare was an elderly missionary to Congo when I was still very young. I remember her holding the audience of ten thousand university students spell-bound, and then in tears, at Urbana '76. Her life story is a testimony to the grace of God portrayed in the 1989 movie, Mama Luka Comes Home.
She is often asked by young people what she suffered for Jesus. Her simple answer is, "During the Simba uprising in the Congo, I was raped twice. Government soldiers came to my bungalow, ransacked it, then grabbed me. I was beaten and savagely kicked, losing my back teeth through the boot of a rebel soldier. They broke my glasses, so I could not see to protect myself from the next blow."
"Then one at a time, two army officers took me to my own bedroom and raped me. They dragged me out into a clearing, tied me to a tree, and stood around laughing. And while I was there - beaten, humiliated and violated - someone brought out the only existing hand-written manuscript I had been writing, over an eleven year period, about God's work in the Congo. They put it on the ground in front of me and burned it."
"I asked myself, 'Was it worth it?' Eleven years of my life poured out in selfless service for the African people and now this? The minute I expressed that, God's Holy Spirit settled over that terrible scene and He began to speak to me."
"My daughter, the question is not 'Is it worth it?' The question is, 'Am I worthy? Am I, the Lord Jesus who gave His life for you, worthy for you to make this kind of sacrifice for Me.' And God broke my heart," Helen continues. "I looked up and I said, 'Oh Lord Jesus, yes, it is worth it, for You are worthy!'" She concludes, "When you ask the right question, you'll always know that He is absolutely worthy of anything you can give Him or do for Him!"
Phil Callaway of SERVANT magazine once asked her, "Did you ever struggle to forgive those men?"
"No," she replied. "There was no sense of bitterness or even anger. I was overwhelmed by the sense that God was graciously using me in His purpose. All He asked of me was the loan of my body. The consequences were His. A year later when I returned to Congo and met the man who had humiliated me, I realized that I did carry some resentment and I wasn't sure I had forgiven him. But God led me to accept from Him the forgiveness that only God can give, and He gave me His peace again."
Helen returned to Congo after all of this and continued her life of service for Jesus among the African people.
RESPONSE
Today I will ask the right question: "Is Jesus worthy of the sacrifices He asks me to make?" Then I will answer affirmatively and take up my cross and follow Him.
PRAYER
Thank You, Lord, for the wonderful trophies of grace like Helen Rosevere, who encourage us in our walk with You, the One who is truly worthy.

Don't ask questions
Luis and I were scouting Uummannaq Island like saints of light, arguing about angles and clouds, when the tundra coughed up a cube with a radiation symbol. Just sitting there. Calm. Rusted. Patient.
We laughed first, of course we did, because humor is the body’s way of not screaming. “Minimalist altar?” Luis said. “Arctic USB hub?” I offered. The sky blushed in pastel auroras, as if complicit.
Then the wind shifted. The metal looked older than our doubts. No tracks. No wires. No logic. Only silence, thick and radioactive with implication.
We took photos quickly, reverently, like tourists in a forbidden chapel.
It's best not to ask questions.

I take Joker back to the cave. I can’t believe what this has come to, me defending this monster from one of my own. How can he still be alive? I went over the remains of the warehouse fifteen times trying to find any evidence that he may have survived but I found nothing. How could he have survived that? That question keeps running through my head as I park the batmobile and drag the unconscious Joker into a holding cell. If there’s one man who knows what happened to Jason it’s him.
These holding cells are designed to hold the likes of Clark and Diana, I very much doubt they would be that successful but they are easily strong enough to hold the unconscious Joker. I activate the shockers in the cell to wake him up. I have questions, and he’s going to give me answers.
“Wowza, talk about a shocking surprise! Hahahaahaha”
“…”
“So where are we then Batsy boy? What have you done with that naughty boy of yours?”
“What have you done to him?”
“Sorry?”
“Where have you been hiding him?”
“Trust me Batsy, I’m just as confused as you are. As far as I was concerned he was dead last I checked.”
“Where did you hide him all this time?”
“I’m telling you Batsy I’m just as confused as you are. I’m surprised to see that bird still has it’s wings. A collapsed lung is usually enough to kill anyone. Guess you choose only the best for your disciples eh?”
“…”
“Where are we now? This your home? You sure do milk this whole creature of the night thing! Hahahahaha”
I activate the shockers again rendering him unconscious. If he isn’t the one behind Jason’s return then who is? The image of Jason beating Joker mercilessly keeps flashing before my eyes. I can’t believe he’s actually alive and what he was willing to do. He was willing to kill Joker and even attack me for trying to stop him from going through with it. I don’t know how Jason could still be alive, but the man that attacked me wasn’t the Jason I know of.
Alfred’s stood on the platform that houses the batcomputer watching me walk up the steps towards him, he’s been there since I pulled into the cave. No doubt he’s keen to find out the reason that I’ve brought Jason’s ‘killer’ to the cave as he knows it must be a good reason.
“Our guest enjoying his room?”
“…”
“Master Bruce?”
“….”
“Master Bruce what’s wrong?”
“He was there Alfred.”
“Who? This Red Hood fellow?”
“Jason….”
“What?”
“Jason….Jason is the Red Hood."
“What? That’s not possible. Jason’s dead.”
“I saw him Alfred. It was Jason.”
“Master Bruce, listen to me. Jason’s dead. It couldn’t have been him.”
“It was him Alfred. I can prove it.”
I pull the SD card out of my cowl and insert into the batcomputer. Since day one I’ve chosen to have the lenses of my cowl record all my visual and audio input primarily to act as visual evidence of culprits partaking in crimes, but this time it’s acting as evidence for the impossible. The computer loads up and I fast forward to the time I witnessed Jason assaulting Joker. The scene plays out and the moment Jason turns around to reveal his face Alfred places his hand over his mouth in shock,
“How…”
“I don’t know. But I need to find out.”
“That’s why you brought him here. Because you know Jason will come for him.”
“That’s what I’m counting on Alfred.”
“But Bruce, how can he be alive? We buried him.”
“We buried an empty coffin Alfred. We never found the body.”
The computer shows Jason attacking me and I see tears begin to fall from Alfred’s eyes. The sight of Alfred in such a state is upsetting.
“What happened to him? What has he become?”
I reach out with my arms and hug Alfred. I hate to see him in this state. Whilst it doesn’t answer his questions I know that my hug cheers him up slightly. I rarely do it now a days so I know that when I do hug him it always cheers him up if only slightly in this case.
“I don’t know Alfred. But we’ll find out what happened to him, and we’ll save him. I promise.”
Twenty four hours go by and Jason doesn’t appear, a worrying issue. I hope no-one attacked him after I left him unconscious whilst I fled with Joker. Alfred’s been nervously awaiting Jason’s arrival unsure of what’s going to happen when he returns home. I’ve spent most of my time looking at the remains of Jason’s suit. Since his ‘death’ I’d repaired the suit and had it displayed in the cave. With no body to bury I needed some way to honor him, even if there was a tombstone and grave at the Wayne Burial ground remembering Jason. Having his suit there was a reminder. Both of his sacrifice, and my promise to him that night. No one else would suffer because of my actions.
I start to think about how I may have broken this promise when I took Tim on as the new Robin, but I made sure that the mistakes I made with Jason weren’t made with Tim. Jason……
I reminisce about how I first met Jason all those years ago, when I saved him from Killer Croc and all the other crimes he helped me fight during his time as Robin. I don’t get far though before I hear Alfred racing towards me.
“Master Bruce! Master Bruce! He has him! “
“Slow down Alfred, who has who?”
“It’s Jason sir. He’s got young Master Timothy!”
“WHAT? Why didn’t you stop Tim from going out on his own? You know it’s not safe with Jason out there!”
“I didn’t think Master Timothy would be of any interest to Jason. I didn’t think he’d even know there was a new Robin.”
“Alfred, it was one of the first things Joker taunted him with, the prospect that he had been replaced. Have you managed to track Tim down?”
“I’m afraid after announcing he had him, Jason destroyed Master Timothy’s tracker and communicator. But I know one thing sir.”
"What’s that Alfred?”
“He’s coming here. Tonight.”
I pause for a moment. The time’s come. He’s on his way.
“Alright. Get ready Alfred, the minute he gets here I want to get Tim and take him to safety. I’ll deal with Jason.”
“What about the clown?”
“He’s staying sedated. The last thing I need is him aggravating Jason whilst I try to stop him.”
“What if Jason tries to kill him?”
“He won’t Alfred. Jason’s many things, but he’s not a killer.”
“How can you be sure?”
“Because I know him Alfred. Trust me. Jason is not a killer.”
Alfred nods and heads back up to the batcomputer to try and search all of Gotham’s CCTV cameras to try and spot Tim or Jason. I only hope that there’s truth to what I just told Alfred. I know Jason is a good kid, but a lot can change in five years…

Not sure I understand wearing a mask that guarantees you'll need to be led around at Comic-Con - isn't the point of attending Comic-Con to, well, SEE Comic-Con?
I think this was a female dressed as Question, and she and Batwoman were awful chummy. Which follows the comics pretty closely, I think they were an item, at least they were before the recent retconning. Now, who knows?

The artist writes: „Ape-man looking up into the sky symbolize the springing up of ancient civilization; today, high civilization bring advanced material culture, yet the nature we live on is being damaged unceasingly“. This has nothing to do with original sin. *The following text is not suitable for religious people. Which does not mean that religiosity is inferior. The religions transport encrypted knowledge over millennia. The time is not yet ripe for the whole truth, but you can already think a few thoughts*.
Anyone who understands the Bible's hidden truth knows that original sin was a genetic manipulation that forced our ancestors and creators to banish us. Adam refused a first Eve because she had her own gene pool and he saw her as a emancipated competitor. It was only when she was created from his gene pool (rib) that he was satisfied, and this has had repercussions on the position of men and women to this day. Adam made this decision with the reduced collective consciousness of nature with which he was created. After all, he was a test person for genetic improvements. He knew no shame, no morals, and did not know what was good and bad. He was also unaware that he was human. But otherwise he had all the human qualities of his creators. Adam and Eve worked in a genetic laboratory where the tragic story about our genetic information took its course. Eva discovered that tampering with the forbidden area of the DNA would not kill them, and was seduced by the DNA snake into an attempt. With that she lost the collective consciousness of nature and became aware of her humanity. With all the consequences such as shame and the knowledge of good and bad that animals do not know. This intoxicant realization she made palatable to Adam too. But they got caught. And so began a journey through space that finally ended on our earth and makes every science fiction film look old. Example: Cain and Abel, murder and manslaughter over DNA information. The gene mutants of the Abel type were able to repair or improve the gene defect, those of the Kain type could not. The group of human beings with the gene mutation of the Kain type is exterminating the Abel type. Apparently the Abelers manage to call for help to their original home. She reports to the Kainern and asks: What did you do with the Abelians? The DNA pattern holders of the Cain type are pushed even farther from the center of the original home of humans to another planet by the headquarters(1. Moses 4: 11–12). On that planet, life support and food production were even more difficult. Cain speaks to headquarters and says: My genetic defect has grown even bigger. It will no longer be repairable. They will hunt me down and kill me (1. Moses 4: 13). They were given a mark in their DNA that immediately allows anyone examining the genetic material to recognize that, according to the law of the universe, these gene carriers are outcast, but must not be killed (1. Moses 4: 15).
The remainder of Chapter 4 of Book 1 of Moses contains the details of how the Cain-pattern bearer dynasty continued to expand. The DNA carriers who are defective in their genetic information, called people, are visited by children of God, i.e. of beings whose DNA genetic information is still in order (1. Moses 6: 1–2). There was a reason why the original home of humans did not destroy the genetically modified creatures, but only sent them into exile. The combination of the properties brought about by genetic manipulation with the DNA carriers of the original hereditary information led to a new type of living being with outstanding properties (1. Moses 6: 4).
Then the story of Noah, a scientist and expert on DNA problems, who had enough time to take healthy DNA information with him from the animal's genetic material for his journey. And Abraham, the story of the greatest genetic engineer all times. You must consider that all of these stories did not take place on today's earth, but on other planets.
Abraham created the gene type Isaac. Isaac is married to a woman of the gene type Cain, from whom Abraham originally descended. The sons from this connection are among others Jakob and Esau. The story on the planet of the Egyptians begins with Joseph coming to Egypt, so that an Isaac type is brought among the people of the Cain type. Abraham apparently knew very well why he was checking the connection between the Egyptian genetic pattern and the Isaac type. After all, he had found out that his technical skills were not sufficient to master the complicated technical systems for large space travel and to carry out the return to the original home of the people. He was not supported by the Egyptians on his first attempt; on the contrary, he was expelled from the country by them because they pursued other interests of their own. With this experience in mind, he systematically prepared his descendants to move to the Egyptians, to acquire their knowledge or their possibilities, and then to try the return home again. The Egyptians realized that there were Isaac types among them and took countermeasures, which led to the strange circumstances surrounding the birth of Moses. The Egyptians, the genetic information type Cain, were not interested in it, because otherwise the same problems would have arisen as with the tragedy of Cain and Abel. So they let kill male births of the Abel type. Moses was born into this situation. His mother played the baby into the Pharaoh's daughter hands. Was she an Egyptian Eva, a scientist looking for the know-how of Abraham? It is possible, that Moses was purposely and experimentally reared by her to discover the repair step in the genetic pattern that Abraham had performed. Moses grows up, receives an Egyptian education and training. And he learns how they use energies to do space travel. So exactly what Abraham wanted, to get his gene type on the way back to his original home. The years have not passed without any problems for Moses. Moses kills an Egyptian and has to flee. In 2. Moses 3:17–18 he is given instructions: Go to the Israelites. If they agree, go with a delegation of the elders to the Pharaoh and say that we have been called by radio, we can go home. Demand that you be allowed to travel into space, three days' journey from here, where your genetic patterns are checked, before you are allowed to travel. The Egyptians say no, you cannot head out alone. Either all or none. A violent dispute arose among genetic engineers (2. Moses 7: 10–13). On the one hand the genetic scientists Aaron and Moses and on the other the genetic experts of the type Cain. The Egyptian Pharaoh realizes that Aaron's gene strands, which he presents for testing, are superior to those of the Cain type. That they are in principle displaced by the Isaac type. The Pharaoh is pissed off because he has to recognize that a corresponding examination by the original home will enable the Isaac type to return to their original home. So he refuses to allow the people of Moses to face the test. The bible now describes the plagues that break in Egypt until the pharaoh finally lets the gene bearers of the Isaac type go. This is the beginning of an unprecedented space odyssey that is described in every detail. Does anyone get the impression that the Bible is a boring and unrealistic story?
There are also references to this in Nostradamus and in Goethe's secret legacy, when he describes the people before people as Adam and Eve. Switzerland, June 8, 2021.

How methane is created and destroyed on Mars is an important question in understanding the various detections and non-detections of methane at Mars, with differences in both time and location. Although making up a very small amount of the overall atmospheric inventory, methane in particular holds key clues to the planet’s current state of activity.
This graphic depicts some of the possible ways methane might be added or removed from the atmosphere.
One exciting possibility is that methane is generated by microbes. If buried underground, this gas could be stored in lattice-structured ice formations known as clathrates, and released to the atmosphere at a much later time.
Methane can also be generated by reactions between carbon dioxide and hydrogen (which, in turn, can be produced by reaction of water and olivine-rich rocks), by deep magmatic degassing or by thermal degradation of ancient organic matter. Again, this could be stored underground and outgassed through cracks in the surface. Methane can also become trapped in pockets of shallow ice, such as seasonal permafrost.
Ultraviolet radiation can both generate methane – through reactions with other molecules or organic material already on the surface, such as comet dust falling onto Mars – and break it down. Ultraviolet reactions in the upper atmosphere (above 60 km) and oxidation reactions in the lower atmosphere (below 60 km) acts to transform methane into carbon dioxide, hydrogen and water vapour, and leads to a lifetime of the molecule of about 300 years.
Methane can also be quickly distributed around the planet by atmospheric circulation, diluting its signal and making it challenging to identify individual sources. Because of the lifetime of the molecule when considering atmospheric processes, any detections today imply it has been released relatively recently.
But other generation and destruction methods have been proposed which explain more localized detections and also allow a faster removal of methane from the atmosphere, closer to the surface of the planet. Dust is abundant in the lower atmosphere below 10 km and may play a role, along with interactions directly with the surface. For example, one idea is that methane diffuses or ‘seeps’ through the surface in localized regions, and is adsorbed back into the surface regolith. Another idea is that strong winds eroding the planet’s surface allows methane to react quickly with dust grains, removing the signature of methane. Seasonal dust storms and dust devils could also accelerate this process.
Continued exploration at Mars – from orbit and the surface alike – along with laboratory experiments and simulations, will help scientists to better understand the different processes involved in generating and destroying methane.
