I'll be honest. I feel a little guilty about posting this. I've hesitated to say anything about how fortunate that I am to be living where I do, especially since we've all been on detention.

Where I live it's convenient for me to walk out my back door and down to the Sandy River. I have a hiking trail in my own backyard. I'm also so familiar with this area that I know of special places that I can drive to within a five mile radius from my home where I can just stop on the side of a back road, hop out and snap photos of the forest with nobody around.

This is one of those spots. Some of you might recognize this place from previous photographs that I've posted here that were so full of moss.

I'm fortunate, true, but I live where I do by design. I've sacrificed a lot of things that many are unwilling to live without so that I can have so much. And I do have so much, and I'm thankful for it all. Since I was a boy I knew that I wanted to live in the woods near a stream. that seed was planted a long time ago, and the fruit tastes pretty good right about now.

I just hope that my photos bring some sort of comfort to those who aren't able to go out into the forest.

I took this photo yesterday afternoon.

Day 1

Day one: NBA, NHL, MLB, March Madness, and all other sports from high school to professional leagues on planet earth are cancelled, or suspended. School districts are suspended for a month. College students sent home. Learning and business continues from home on-line via laptops, camera, mics, and sustaining WIFI.

This has never happened before.

The old quarantine station on Comino. Now home of the last 3 (?) residents.

Aren't the humans ever going to leave!?

Some shameless pandering here, but it’s an archived shot I never posted. I thought it would go well with current events

I sometimes used to wish I could hit pause for six months or a year and now it’s like the universe called my bluff.

So guys, some of my friends and Flickr people have been asking me over the months on tips and shit about editing, which led me to create some notecards which talk about:

-How to take photos on blackdragon (very basic)

-How to do light leaks and particles on photos (on PS)

-How to blur the background/Avi selection (on PS)

-How I shadow (PS)

:)

I use a lot of visual aids so yesss....if anyone wants one of those notecards, let me know ^^ I wanna help as much as I can :)

You can contact me here or inworld :D

I spent the week prior to my surgery in quarantine. Luckily I could avoid people. This Northern Watersnake was one of the closest encounters I had.
