After yesterday's picture of dark orange, I found a few more colours that have inconsistent fluorescence under UV light.

 

Flame yellowish orange and Orange (pictured here) show pretty strong fluorescence in some elements.

 

Not pictured, medium blue, red, new dark red, and reddish brown also show some fluorescence in certain elements but not quite as strong, and more difficult to photograph properly.

 

I've also noticed some fluorescence in older/yellowed light grey, yellow, and blue (brittle blue?).

MacBook Air model A1237 from 2008 with an expanding battery (A1245) and the Applecare date has passed. This MBA would not sit straight on a table and you could see the lid askew. It seems mine's one of 79,119 Mercedes ML320 vehicles that may of been affected by faulty welds on the catalytic converters. Interestingly customers of Mercedes Benz in the USA were contacted about this and requested to go into the dealerships to have theirs checked and replaced free of charge if needed.

After initial cleaning and sorting, all seed that goes through the plant passes through quality control. If a sample from a batch is found to more have more than 2% impurities, they are either separated out by hand like this or using a gravity table. The batch is then resampled to ensure a clean bill of health to continue processing.

It produces approximately 10,000 bags of maize seed a year, each holding 22.5kg, as well as producing wheat and oat seed and marketing seed of other crops. Despite their small size, Bidasem and similar companies play an important role in improving farmers’ livelihoods. “Our aim is to provide farmers with quality seed at accessible prices, that is adapted to the conditions we have here in the Bajío. It’s a great satisfaction, when farmers achieve the yields they need,” says director general María Esther Rivas.

 

“Without CIMMYT, we couldn’t exist,” says Rivas. She sells four different maize hybrids, all formed from freely-available CIMMYT parent lines. “Really the most important thing is to produce your own hybrids, and for us it wouldn’t be possible if we didn’t have the germplasm from CIMMYT. What we’re currently producing is 100% CIMMYT.” The relationship between Bidasem and CIMMYT is now deepening through participation in the MasAgro initiative, which includes training courses for seed companies and collaborative trials to evaluate the best seed.

To improve consistency and best practices across registered professions, David Eby, Attorney General, has announced proposed amendments to the Professional Governance Act.

 

The act currently oversees five regulatory bodies that regulate six professions:

 

• the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC;

• the Association of BC Forest Professionals;

• the BC Institute of Agrologists;

• the College of Applied Biologists; and

• the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.

Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) being tested at the Lighting and Appliance Testing Laboratory (LATL) of the Department of Energy (DPE) in UP Diliman, Quezon City.
