One of the images I took during the 48 hr 2017 Annual "One Weekend in Whittier" #1wkndWhit photography event from 3/31/17 to 4/2/17. Camera & Settings: Sony a6000, Sony 35mm f1.8 lens, Aperture Priority, ISO 100, f/4.5 @ 1/2500 sec. I was walking around on the upper parking lot area of "The Quad" in Whittier on Painter and Whittier Blvd. looking for interesting things to shoot. Since it was mid-day and terrible lighting, I looked for shadows and high contrast scenes. I came across this railing on the staircase and grabbed a horizontal and vertical shot. I liked this one better. Edited in Lightroom v2015.10 to bring out the details, and tone down the lower left corner that was a tad too bright.

These were supposed to be a double exposure collaboration with Jith but hers didn't come out (Smashica issues). So here we have my strange photos a bit underexposed.

Ah... the glorious sound of a classic electrostatic speaker. Had trouble finding enough space for them but they seem happy in the living room. Amp is a Quad 303 and pre is currently a Luxman L5.

I loved this set and used for years. It is an awesome match with Rogers LS3/5a, one of my fave bookshelf speakers.

Originally the heart of the University of Nevada, Reno campus, this beautiful area is the traditional setting for Commencement activities, and provides a pleasant place for picnics, concerts, and quiet reflection. Since 1987, the University of Nevada Quadrangle has been listed as a "Jeffersonian academic village" on the National Register of Historic Places, as the campus core follows Thomas Jefferson's design for the University of Virginia Lawn. The lovely, giant elm trees were planted in 1908. When the University was in its infancy, it was strictly forbidden for underclassmen to ever set foot on the Quad.

Pacific National Intermodal service 2PM6 screeches through the beautiful Mount Lofty Station in Stirling, South Australia with locomotives NR81, NR37, NR45 & 8254 in charge. It is a nice change compared to the boring NR-NR combination used on this train last week.

The lead locomotive, NR81 features no Pacific National decals on the side as it was involved in a fire a while back.

Just showing you the Tokidoki eye shadow quads I got :)

One of them was a gift from Felicia and the other one was a gift for myself <3

Sometimes something happens you cannot take a picture of...

and still is worth telling about...

The day after World Animal Day I walked Leah in the woods and she was walking free since there was no one else on this dirt road.

Suddenly, out of nothing, two trikes, father and son, a lot of noise in this area of silence, going very fast, bending into sharp curves...

In a split second I knew...and it happened!

I dived grasping for her, landing nose first into the mud, while Leah, in that same split second, all muscles tense, like an arrow jumped into pursuit of the trikes.

Screaming, almost forcing the whistle into disfunction......no reaction. After one minute dog and trikes were completely gone and silence returned all around me.

It's no use running after a dog that goes almost 60 km.an hour so I sat down at the side of the road and realized: I just lost my dog...

Seeing nobody around, I put my head into my hands and cried my eyes out,

till...I suddenly felt a wet nose against my cheek. Never heard her come back. Was so glad and mad I could've killed her...well, not really...instead she got a cookie.

There always will be situations you cannot control...

An Army Quad Bike is put through its paces in the Urgent Operational Requirement (UOR) Equipment Demonstration at Salisbury Plain in September 2008.

Quad bikes used to carry minor items of equipment and personnel to and from the frontline.

The demonstration displayed the complete range of equipment that is in use by the Army, on operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Involved in the display were actual soldiers who had used the equipment in an operational environment.

The Sora (Porzana carolina) is a small waterbird of the family Rallidae, sometimes also referred to as the Sora Rail or Sora Crake. The Sora's breeding habitat is marshes throughout much of North America. They nest in a well-concealed location in dense vegetation. They migrate to the southern United States and northern South America. Sora is a very rare vagrant to western Europe, where it can be confused with Spotted Crake. However, the latter species always has spotting on the breast, a streaked crown stripe, and a different wing pattern. Soras forage while walking or swimming. They are omnivores, eating seeds, insects and snails. Although Soras are more often heard than seen, they are sometimes seen walking near open water. (note: FYI - the shape of their feet and length of their toes helps them to walk across reeds, leaves and lily pads while foraging for food)
