LEICA Q!

買ったった!…

嘘だけど

それにしてもレスポンスは速いし高感度は強いしAFだし手振れ補正だし接写もいける、ライカが作ったとは思えないほどの全部盛りでした

I bought the Music Trivia, thinking that Stew might enjoy it, and he did. I then found the Literary Quiz book amongst my poetry books. I know nothing about music trivia and I've discovered that I know very little about literature, or at least about the questions in this book.

Chicago Burlington & Quincy #4978 is a Baldwin built Mikado type locomotive (2-8-2), one of sixty ordered by the CB&Q in 1923. #4978 weighs in at 316,780 lbs and has 27" x 30" cylinders and 64" drivers. The 325 sq ft radially stayed firebox includes 33 sq ft of arch tubes and 59 sq ft of combustion chamber. With an additional 769 sq ft superheating, its total heating surface was 4,178 sq ft. In 1923 these locomotives came with a price tag of $55,296 each.

The tender weighs 195,200 lbs light and has a capacity of 10,000 gallons of water and 19 tons of coal. #4978 was originally assigned to the CB&Q Galesburg division, which included Mendota, and was active as late as 1961. It was retired in 1965, when it was donated to the LaSalle County Historical Society. It is now on display with wood cupola caboose CBQ #14451, which was built in CB&Q's Aurora, IL, shops in 1911 at the cost of $1,582.72.

CB&Q #4978 is currently on display outdoors at the Union Depot Railroad Museum in Mendota IL.

Aunty Glynda gave the boys some paint for painting with q-tips..nice job they did!

Long before "Dr." Phil's "show" (yes, all those quotes are intentional!) gave unexpected (and unfortunate) birth to the "Cash me outside, how bow dah" craze, we had something somewhat related, but a bit more tasteful: "Slap Ya Mama" Cajun seasoning! ("Slap history" can be seen at that last link...)

BNSF 6081 takes the rear end of a 13k foot Q-train through the crossovers at Minneola as the pretty long Los Angeles bound train continues it's morning crossing through the Mojave Desert. As two desert landmarks the Cool Water Generating Station and Elephant Mountain begin appearing from behind the DPU as the train pushes west. Small blacks specs in the photo are actually Queen Butterflies which are everywhere imaginable when there's been enough rain in the winter and spring.

little Q used to be very famous model in the Taiwan website ,after rest for a long time, now she come up to show her beauty for everyone ,it is a good new for her fans ,and i am lucky to have a chance to shoot her for my first time, and it was worthy

QはP(ペンタ)とR(リコー)の架け橋なのです

The East End of the CB&Q ran from Aurora Tower at the Station (both long gone) through western Chicago Suburbs to Union Avenue Tower (long gone) at the west end of the wye south of Chicago Union Station. The East-End Way Freight worked most of that territory. I lived in Westmont, one of those suburbs in the 1950s and 60s and took many pictures of that Way freight. Here are three for starters.

... AND I GOT TO HOLD HIM!

Q is a rescue puppy from Manitoba which is three provinces east of us in British Columbia. I suspect he has a better chance of adoption in BC.

He is the third dog the nice fellow holding him has fostered. One foster lasted just three days before there was an adoption while another one lasted 3 months!

I hope little Q finds a wonderful forever home long before Christmas.

I've written a blog post about my initial experience with the Leica Q. It's not a full review, just brief intro and my thoughts about it.
