Q had been very ill for quite some time and on Saturday we had to say goodbye. It's been extremely emotional for me. He was my heart cat and had been with us since he was a kitten. He would have completed his 18th year on this earth in December. I just wanted to let my friends know since so many of you have "followed" him through my crazy images over the years.
The image shows the central part of the Virgo Cluster that contains at least 1.300 galaxies.
The galaxies in the right image part form the so called Markarian Chain.

Pentax Q with Laowa 12mm f2.8 @ f8 with substantial crop (just experimenting!). I thought this might make a good B&W when I took the picture, but it wasn't to be.
A northbound BNSF Q-Train, coming from Alliance, TX and headed for Portland, OR is approaching the south end of the Colorado Springs siding. The tracks here parallel Las Vegas Street on the south side of Colorado Springs. The train is all doublestacks up front, but actually has some general mixed freight cars at the back. A practice that has becoming more common on railroads in the last decade or so.

Normaal stoppen stoomtreinen hier net buiten Gillrath om de watertanks te vullen. Voor het laatste stuk van laatste rit van de dag heeft de MEG101 gelukkig geen extra druppel nodig. Toen de duitser die de begroeiing aan het weghalen was hierachter kwam, was hij zo weg. Daarop besloten wij aan deze kant van het haltepunt Stahe te gaan staan. Als ik die duitser nogmaals tegenkom zal ik hem moeten bedanken, want dit zag er leuk uit.
