Just In! A big brother to the Standardsuper E-9. One side is out (the two right speakers), so I can't really savor the stereo effect of this one and only superheterodyne that I have in my qivver that is stereophonic. My sisters friends birthday was coming up and my sister needed a gift.
She saw this nice leather armband online, but I mentioned that with the leatherworking tools I bought half a year ago and wanting to get into leatherworking I could make one for waaaay less.
She agreed, so I visitied three leather shops and got my hands on some real nice scraps of vegetable-tanned leather for next to nothing.
I used a strap cutter tu cut a ~1.3cm wide strip of leather and rounded the ends with rounded end punches, then proceeded to smooth the edges with a nylon edge slicker. After deciding on what text to put where I marked the positions with chalk and used revolver hole punch pliers to make holes for the rivets and pushbuttons. Alphabet punches/stamps were used for the letters.
I dyed the leather with Tandy Leather Eco-Flo Timber Brown, buffed the leather, then applied Fiebing's Mink Oil twice to soften and waterproof the leather. I buffed after each oil application. The oil darkened up the leather a bit more.
Next I sealed the leather with Tandy Leather Eco-Flo Super Shene, applying 4 layers and buffing after each application has dried.
Finally, I set all the rivets and pushbuttons.
I'm pretty pleased with the result, especially since I had no prior experience in leatherworking beyond a couple hours worth of youtube instruction videos on leatherworking.
The text says "You can count on me honey" and "K & N", which are the given name initials of my sister and her friend.
Note the three pushbuttons missing below the magic eye...I didn't notice it in th for sale pictures. They're probably sprache/jazz/orkestra buttons that are overridden by the bass/hohen fingerwheels anyway.
Many 1955-1956 Packards had Twin Ultramatic transmission (a two-speed automatic with lockup torque converter) with pushbutton control. Unlike Chrysler pushbuttons, Packard's were electrically operated, not mechanical, and could be troublesome.
I've completely reworked the hadware board. The basics remain the FPGA module Terasic, the DE0-Nano. This board contains a lot of I / O lines and is super fast. Everything is on a single-sided PCB. The output transistor drivers ( 20 pieces 500 mA/ 45V outputs ) are in SMD to save board space. The DE0-nano FPGA board is as a Peggy-back board mounted on ther driver PCB. Via the USB connector, the FPGA program can be re-written.

the "lightbar" completed circuit board. Breadboard arduino on a board with two max7221 led driver chips, some resistors and caps and a pushbutton switch to change modes.
This is a keypad to start my motorcycle (I kept losing the key). I used a Boarduino, three pushbuttons, three LEDs, and two five-volt relays wth driver transistors (redundant, for safety).

-14 toggle switches: cut up row, sample and hold row, tonal row, and synth row. use singlely or in combination for flexibilty in sound sculputing and rhythmic breakups.
-1 two way switch: locked or momentary positions that activates extended range pitch knob.
-1 overall extended range pitch knob: from abstractly low to extremely high pitched
-2 body contacts: responsive touch control of pitch
-1 sub mini switch: activates light theremin.
-1 light theremin control cell: cells are picked for best articulation and control over pitch and sound.
-1 switch- loop sample hold. activates sample without pitch control.. momentary or locked
-1 stomp switch: activates pitch control knob and sample hold
-1 vintage pilot lens: the lens shines a bright red light though the lens whenever a sample loop is activated by user

With the new difusers riveted into place, it's time to reinstall the pushbutton switches. Although counterintuitive, don't try to place each bank of five buttons between both angle brackets with the idea of holding all seven pieces of this assembly together while turning in the four screws through the back side of the switch shell. Trust me, it won't work this way unless you're an octopus and are equiped with eight hands.
First, take one angle bracket and install with two screws. Then place one side of each button hinge in its corresponding hole in the bracket. Then take the other angle bracket and work the hinge pins into it. One hand will hold the remaining bracket - with buttons in place - as you align the bracket over the other switch shell holes.
Crossing the road in Italy can be a terrifying experience for those not used to the local custom. The traffic should slow down for you before you step out, usually not. Once you have asserted yourself onto the road, traffic won't wait until you've cleared the crossing it will continue to pass in front and behind you.
Luckily this crossing is light controlled!

My friend from work just bought a home and it came with this old stove. I've never seen a stove with push buttons to start the burners, and this thing was cleaner than mine!
This tiny controller PC board has two connectors (one for power in and one for lights out) and a terminal block. The magnetic or pushbutton switch is attached to the PC board via the two connectors on the terminal block, and two green LEDs indicate power on/off and switch on/off.

It is a petrol engined example with auto stop/start. My colleague couldn't get on with this feature - it can be disabled via on dashboard pushbutton.
Note the orange coloured tool next to the drivers seat. It is a Lifehammer. The Lifehammer is a device that can be used to escape from a car "Shatter the car's side window easily using this safety hammer with double sided carbon steel hammerhead. With the integrated seatbelt cutter you can easily cut any seatbelt."
I'm not sure if this a Netherlands specific fitment, a Ford fitment or an Enterprise Rent a car fitment. Either way this is a sensible bit of equipment for a country littered with drainage ditches and water courses invariably next to a road. We have one fitted to the under side of our Volvo's drivers seat.
