There is always a thrill in extremities. Macro photography thrills you in every shot you make. The more you go close the more you get thrilled. I used to define macro photography as "Seeing the unseen and knowing the unknown".

Here I captured the pollen grains bundles of basil (Thulasi) flowers. Each bundle may measure around 0.5 mm.

They look like boondhi laddu, lol !!!

Have a great day, friends !!!

I reversed a 24mm prime lens (tokina) on an extension tube. Used camera's built-in flash.

At RMU Banovici's Oskova washery during the evening of 23rd February 2015, 760mm gauge 0-6-0 tank 25-30 (built by CKD in 1947) gives a hard push through the tipping dock with discharged hopper wagons, in order to place them in a loop to be collected later by a diesel loco. It then sets back light using the adjacent line, returning up the grade to the exchange sidings to collect another load for tipping. The tipping dock labourers meanwhile take a quick break in their bothy before the next load arrives for tipping.

Doncaster Town, of the Yorkshire South Premier League, look for runs on the leg side at Sandhill Road during a fourth round tie - an area semi-final - with Yorkshire North Premier League hosts Woodhouse Grange in the ECB National Club Championship.

Town won a nip-and-tuck contest by three wickets with five balls to spare, and now host Richmondshire on July 15 in the area final. An away win on a sweltering afternoon looked unlikely when Doncaster, chasing 193, slumped to 41-5 as Steve Burdett (3-21) wreaked havoc. Skipper Luke Townsend (67 not out) and James Ward (51) then added 80 for the sixth wicket. Townsend was assisted by some big hits from Alex Gosney (20). Curtis Free (12 not out) took up where Gosney left off to ease home Doncaster, who needed 24 off the last three overs then 16 from two. Chris Suddaby finished with 2-45. Woodhouse Grange's innings was remarkably similar. At 38-3, the hosts looked in trouble as Doncaster's decision to rely heavily on spin paid dividends. Mike Burdett (67 not out) and Chris Bilton (65) righted the ship by putting on 89 for the fourth wicket. Free took 2-19 and Gosney 2-47.

Match statistics:

Admission: free. Programme: £1 (four pages). Attendance: 84. Woodhouse Grange won the toss and elected to bat. Woodhouse Grange 192-6 off 40 overs (Mike Burdett 67 not out, Chris Bilton 65, Curtis Free 2-19, Alex Gosney 2-47) lost by three wickets to Doncaster Town 193-7 off 39.1 overs (Luke Townsend 67 not out, James Ward 51, Alex Gosney 20, Steve Burdett 3-27, Chris Suddaby 2-45).

Woodhouse Grange Cricket Club were established in 1942 as a recreational team for farm workers. They have since played at Lord's on seven occasions, all in the final of the prestigious National Village Cup. Grange, once described as the Manchester United of village cricket, have lifted the trophy four times, in 1995, 2007, 2014 and 2015. They have won a record 15 York & District Senior League championships, including two spells (1994-97 and 2011-14) of four consecutive titles and four league and cup doubles (1987, 1996, 2008 and 2012). In 2017, with the restructuring of league cricket in Yorkshire, Grange became a founder member of the ECB Yorkshire North Premier League. Their Sandhill Road ground is noted for being in the middle of nowhere, amid fields, between York and Pocklington. The nearest villages, Barmby Moor and Sutton-upon-Derwent, are two miles away.

If the 19th Century had a lost-and-found for the Bavarian Aristocracy run by Cherokee Indians, this is what it would look like.

European historians tell us that eventually, Germany was able to push back the brave warriors and their buffalo all the way to the Americas. As a result, to this day you can't get good Buffalo Wings in a German bar. Its true. And it helps to explain why early American art always shows buffalos wearing moncles. Ok, I may have made up that last part.

Photo walk of May 8, 2023, Lyon, France with my FOCA Universel "R", a French range-finder 35mm camera of the 50's fitted here with the Oplar wide-angle lens 1:3.5 f=3.5cm.

The camera was loaded with a Fomapan 100 36-exposure film. It was exposed for 100 ISO using an Autometer III Minolta lightmeter fitted with a 10° finder for selective measurements privileging the shadow areas. The Oplar 35mm lens was equipped with a Foca AUV push-on 42mm protective filter and a Minolta D42KA cylindrical shade hood or just a J.L. Lumière 42mm push-on x2 yellow filter as indicated bellow.

The Foca Universel R has a finder covering the field only of a normal 50mm lens. I used the Universel finder that includes miniature lenses on a rotating touret corresponding the 35, 50, 90 and 135 mm fields.

Focusing was done using the body coupled range-finder that is the characteristic of the "Universel" Foca camera's that couple the range finder to any available OPL Foca lenses with the bayonet mount.

Shutter speeds from 1/200 to 1/100s and f/4 to f/11 were used along the walk.

Yellow x2 filter, no shade hood.

After exposure, the film was revealed using Tetenal Ultrafin Liquid developper at dilution 1+20 and 20°C for 7 min30. The film was then digitalized using a Sony A7 body fitted to a Minolta Slide Duplicator installed on a Minolta Auto Bellows III with a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5. The RAW files obtained were processed without intermediate files in LR and edited to the final jpeg pictures.

All views of the film are presented in the dedicated album either in the printed framed versions and unframed full-size jpeg.

About the camera :

The Foca Universel "R" is the late series (circa 1956-1962) of the Foca Universel 35mm range-finder camera appeared in 1950 and produced until 1956. The Universel model of FOCa was fitted with a bayonet mount instead of the 36mm screw mount of other Foca PF (PF standing for "Petit Format"). Foca camera's were constructed in France by the company "Optique & Precision de Levallois" (OPL) in the OPL factory of Chateaudun (Eure) starting from 1947. This factory still exists under the name of SAFRAN a French company producing aerospace devices and systems. This exemplary of Foca Universel R was likely manufactured in 1959 or 1960.

The camera is normally equipped with the collapsible OPLAREX lens 1:1.9 f=5cm with the OPL bayonet mount and here with an OPLAR 1:3.5 f=3.5cm wide-angle lens.
