It's still too hot to stay outside for long ... 10 minutes to shoot this swaying purple grass for the Purple Tuesday group and I'd reached my boiling point.
All fingers and toes are crossed that a few months of cooler days are just around the corner.
Yes, bumblebees do make honey! But they don't make as much as honey bees do, and they don't make extra for storage. So if you find a nest of bumblebees in the ground and take their honey, you're likely starving the bees. Still, there are a few producers of lavender honey. I'd like to taste some. In the meantime I can't resist taking their pictures on my lavender, for purple tuesday ♥

Tux is back home folks, but has had a globe-trotting good time of it during his absence! He arrived back in the US just in time to get in on Fourth of July leftovers: Brunswick sardines in honor of the wonderful and talented Graham-IV who rescued him, beer from south of the border for Tipsy Tuesday, and even some purple sweet peas for Purple Tuesday ♥ HTT and HPT ♥

Not my most stellar image, but didn't have a lot of time today and wanted to contribute to Purple Tuesday.
I have a question for y'all if you don't mind about organizing and back up your photos. I have over 19,000 pictures on my computer and it is really slowing down my laptop. I have them all backed up on a portable hard drive and I delete some from my laptop, but I always think I'll go back and view or edit old shots. Do ya'll keep all of your pictures directly on your computer/laptop? What's your organization/backing up method?
I confess it! I love graffiti! At least, I love to photograph it. It's illegal, often a nuisance, possibly sinister when it's gang-related, but still... some of it is very very good! It can be colorful, artistic, interesting, funny! Besides, how could I resist this friendly little face goggling at me from under his teeny hat?

This quote from Claude Monet suits me to a T! I planted flowers yesterday to replace those that froze to death in our unusually heavy frosts. And of course it dipped down to freezing again last night! But it wasn't a hard frost, and the flowers still look happy this morning. The frost had mostly melted to water drops by the time I went outside. ♥happy purple tuesday♥

I found these strange berries in the grounds of Luton Hoo on a family Christmas weekend at the hotel last December. I don't know what they are, but they really were pink and purple, quite a stark contrast to the bare and grey backdrop. The purple background is more of these berries out of focus.

A recent sunset walk along the River Thames led to the discovery of this old building.
Harrods Furniture Depository used to be the warehouse for Harrods, the famous department store in Knightsbridge.
The depository is situated near Hammersmith Bridge on the River Thames, this grand old building has now been converted into 250 posh homes ('Harrods Village').

St Albans at sunset just as the shops were closing. This was the Sunday before Christmas, I needed to finish my film so I could send it off to get processed before Christmas, so I headed off into town to catch the sunset and Christmas lights.
