I rarely post flowers and almost never link to any songs, but I am doing both today. Not sure why. Oh, yeah...it is Wednesday and I thought I should go for this bokeh thingy (HBW everyone!), but still have no explanation for the song. Other than I borrowed a title from it. So here it is.

And large on black too.

I ve been waiting for my Aquilegia to open- they never disappoint.

Purple and Gold, with a color-matched pollinating fly. (Not a bee, though it looks like one.)

One of my personal favorites. Used in my blog posting “Invocation to Venus.”

Good morning Flickr Friends, I hope you all have a super Saturday. I like how this shot turned out and I hope you will like it too. If I do not get to your new uploads this morning I will this afternoon. I have a meeting I have to go to at the church.

Hugs,

Purple haze, a perfect name for a cluster of flowers found in the Arboretum at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. But that's not their real name, and up front and honest, I don't really know what these flowers are. They look like some kind of cone flower. I'm sticking with purple haze.

"Purple Haze all in my brain, lately things don't seem the same, actin' funny but I don't know why 'scuse me while I kiss the sky."

I just had to get that out. Thanks Jimi.

Happy Slider's Sunday everyone.

The color and details in this image caught my eye. I made this macro in our garden, but as of now I can't identify the flower. I used my old Sigma 180 macro to make this image, not what is shown on the right.

The stamens are all folded up showing just a few of the anthers that produce the pollen! I image they will eventually stand up straight and display the pollen to the pollinators.

Have a great week!

It is a crop I must admit but when I saw this from the camera I had to think about the song Purple Rain by Prince. I just love that song so ........

I won't be able to post for a week or two but I hope to keep up on some commenting as time becomes available.

The viola is a flower plant from the Violaceae family. Violas are often referred to as "violets.". There are about 400 to 500 species of violas on the planet, the majority of which exist in the Northern Hemisphere.

Took down the Christmas decorations today found I had a very old purple ball and some unused silver lametta.

Purple symbolizes royalty.

This lovely single flower was used as a table decoration at a recent function I was lucky enough to be invited to at Gothenburg University. Simple and beautiful.

I caught an iris that had opened up so I could shoot down the top, the bristle pollen is under the canopy of each of the three purple chutes, the bees come in and out of.
