The color of the month for my Color Wheel project is purple! Hoping to be a bit more active in my personal creative work this month.
The Purple Swamphen is a large rail. It is mainly dusky black above, with a broad dark blue collar, and dark blue to purple below. As the Purple Swamphen walks, it flicks its tail up and down, revealing its white undertail. The bill is red and robust, and the legs and feet orange-red. For such a bulky bird, the Swamphen is an accomplished flier and will readily take to the air to escape danger. In flight, the long legs and elongated toes trail behind or hang underneath the body. Purple Swamphens are proficient swimmers, but prefer to wander on the edges of the water, among reeds and on floating vegetation.
Scientific Name: Porphyrio porphyrio

The Purple Gallinule is still the most colorful bird of the wetlands, even with the entry of the Gray-headed Swamphen. The Purple Gallinule stands supreme in color and beauty.

A sunny day, in the front yard.
Smaller than normal, maybe because it's so early and they didn't have enough time to develop. Maybe because of the drought we had last Summer. They may be small, but still good to see them!
Purple on black was intended to set a sort of gothic mood but perhaps its too dark to appreciate the model?
SUNSET - Boca Raton, Florida U.S.A.

It's Rainy Season and Hurricane Season for us right now in
South Florida (from June 1st to November 1st). We're seeing
'quite-active' weather-development (recently) on a daily-basis.
I have quite a backlog of sunset-images mixed with thunderstorm
activity, and I will be posting those 'weather-event' evenings over
the next few months, along with some summer wildlife captures
and probably some travel-photography, too. Enjoy your summer!

It was easy to think of a title for this one ...

I have no idea what these flowers are but caught my eye while on a walk today through a lovely garden here in the city for the public to enjoy.
RIP to his Purple Highness. Too many going too early of late. Chive flowers coming along already. Everything is early this year.
