who is PURE EVIL?

In 1990 PURE EVIL

left the Poll

Tax Riots of London behind and went to live in California

where he spent 10 years ingesting weapons grade psychedelics

, thinking about stuff , making electronic

music and printing t-shirts

. Inspired by skateboard

culture and the west coast character graffiti

of Twist

he returned to London and inexplicably picked up a spraycan and started painting

weird fanged vampire

bunnies everywhere. After having spent the past year working on new canvasses

and prints

inspired by 'the wreckage of utopian

dreams and an apocalyptic

vision of the end

of time' , PE is now launching his vision of darkness

on an unsuspecting world, trying to look at the BIG PICTURE... asking the tricky

questions like :

'what does evil look like?'

'why do humans seem to like conflict

and explosions so much?'

'are penguins naturally psychopathic and can they use nunchakus

effectively?'

'is earth actually a deep

space battle station created millions of years ago by an evil galactic empire?'

Johnny Lightning model - I like this a lot, because it's a three inch replica of the real machine, not a fantasy model.

Whenever I see the ads for "Pure Michigan" I always wanted to see more truth in advertising. I figured I would make my own "Pure Michigan" ads.

Bulky trash, waste, cheap materials: pure gold! At least in the eyes of many active designers.

In cooperation with IfA (the German Institute for International & Cultural Relations) and TCDC (Thailand Creative & Design Centre), the Goethe-Institut Thailand presents Pure Gold – Upcycled! Upgraded! This exhibition explores the subject of rubbish and presents approaches to using trash to create useful, valuable products. The exhibits can be seen in the Gallery Room of the TCDC Bangkok from May 18th to July 22nd 2018. Admission is free.

Global industrialization and ever greater levels of consumption make upcycling an urgent matter. IfA has chosen to address this issue with a design exhibition and the creation of a platform via a series of workshops and conferences. The cornerstones of this project are ethics, responsibility, internationalization and co-creation. The Pure Gold exhibition consists of two complementary parts: the physical and material exhibition and the virtual platform, which offers a space for dialogue, discussion and the storage of knowledge.

Working with seven curators from Europe, Latin America, North Africa and the Near East, East Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, IfA has brought together 76 exhibits and a total of 53 designers (including Thai designers), thus offering a diversity that adds extra value and appreciation to the exhibition within its many diverse contexts.

The workshops take place at the exhibition venues together with local design students and in cooperation with FabCafé Bangkok. Results are presented in the shape of instructables , providing a further platform for discussion and exchange of knowledge.

At every venue of the Pure Gold tour, IfA invites local designers to exhibit their work. In Bangkok, three Thai designers will be presenting their creations related to upcycling and using trash to create useful products.

She has been the first non-Barbie doll in my collection! Before her arrival, I used to be a Barbie (and just Barbie) collector, but when I saw Pure Violet I couldn't resist. Then, after a few months, Kyori and Isha came, and I realized that something had changed.

This is a VINTAGE Japanese Donuki. Donuki are kimono meant for layeing. They are usually worn beneath a more ornate outer robe. This donuki likely originates in the late Showa Period (1926 - 1989) or Heisei Period (1989 - present). This donuki is made from pure whit, fine habbotai silk.

I have inspected this kimono in detail, and there are some faint marks on the exterior, but most will be hidden if the garment is worn beneath another kimono. The sleeve ends have also been tacked up by about 8 cm and can be let out if desired. Overall I would rate this kimono as being in good vintage condition. There are no tears, holes or seam separations. I believe this garment is 100% silk.

MEASUREMENTS:

162cm - Long (Collar to Hem)

126cm - Arm span

58cm - Width across the back

126cm - Total width of skirt

46cm - Sleeve drop (54cm if let out)

SIZING:

If you are unsure of how to interpret the kimono's size it is important to know that the length (collar - hem) should be approximately 10cm longer to 10cm shorter than the wearer's overall height (longer is better). This is because the excess length will be folded up at the waist. Meanwhile, the skirt should wrap around the hips a full 1.5 times. The armspan should also reach wrist to wrist on the wearer. In this case, the kimono will ideally fit a woman about 152cm (5'0") - 172cm (5'8") tall, with hips about 84cm (33") around. There is some give and take in these measurements though.
