Christie made a puppet theater for Mara for Christmas this year, but they're designed to fit on tension rods in a doorway, and Kate and Jeff don't have a good doorway for that.
Building the frame was my job, and I turned to that great DIY crutch, PVC pipes.
Also, it's not particularly relevant, but Jewel insisted on being the picture.
Mrs C-13 collects Pelham Puppets.We've probably got about 100 of them around the house and it's taken me this long to realise that they'd make a great subject to photograph!

marionette puppet 1: aina maninonet... aina named the puppet.
Clay sculpt of my puppet head, inspired by fantasy art such as The Dark Crystal and developed from my CG sculpt (scale drawing I was working from shown in the background). Changes include larger exaggerated wrinkles, larger (friendlier) eyes and a larger more expressive mouth. This will be moulded in a three-part mould and re-cast in latex, which will be added to the rest of the body (a half body without legs, due to time constraints). The mouth will be operated by a hand inserted under the body.
I have 2 options for making movies. Either I move the camera, or I film something moving. I could also do both, but for now, I'm concentrating on the first two. In this, I enlisted a puppet to assist me. This is Bob, the Bobcat.
At a show at "The Jazz Cafe" in San Jose, the intermission band was accompanied by large puppets and masked dancers!
